This is an account to promote my anonymously-published book, Gone Like a Goldfish, about suicide, addiction, mental illness, and child loss. I'm told that it's transgressive literature. Free on Kindle Unlimited. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H8L8GB2X

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get a couple #BookTok reviewers to look at my book?

Hey, I’m Simon Shugar—author of bold, emotional, action-heavy fantasy told through raw, first-person journeys. If you like coming-of-age arcs, epic stakes, and human struggles in unreal worlds then check out my books below! #FantasyBooks #EpicFantasy #IndieAuthor #ComingOfAge #AmReading

As life goes on you start to notice the pattern - things get worse, then they get better, then they get worse, then they get better... knowing this helps you cope with the bad times, you know that this too will pass. But it always ends on a bad note. One time it will get worse and never get better.

My book is polarizing, yay! That's better than a bunch of 4s and 5s, in my opinion. Read the sample and you'll have a pretty good idea of which way you'll land.

I see pieces of cardboard laying around Seattle sometimes. Amazon branding on one side, but on the other it's a homeless person's sign written in marker, "anything helps," etc. Some of these pieces of cardboard will be in a museum one day.

A few days after my son died I saw some teenagers and asked if they went to school with him. They said yes. I started crying and I wanted to ask what he was like in school but instead asked "what was he like in person?" I was so embarrassed I just walked away.

I just thought of an idea for an event, "overshare in your underwear". There is an audience and a stage. You strip down to your underwear then go up on the stage and tell some incredibly personal story, then everyone claps and you put your clothes back on and sit down. Open mic or scheduled speakers

I fucking hate marketing, I suck at it and an anonymously written obscene dark humor book about child loss is a hard sell. I'm basically selecting random individuals and lobbying them to buy it at this point. Only sold 38 so far, but I have 4 ratings, all 5 stars (to be fair, one was from a friend)

Indie author appreciation post. 🤍 For the authors writing while working full-time. Writing with kids running around. Writing after exhausting days. Writing anyway. I'm rooting for you ❤️ #AuthorSky #booksky

Any tips on how to get people to read your anonymously published book with hardly a cover and which is extremely obscene and sad? When it's 99 cents, or free on KU, price isn't the issue, and when all the ratings so far are all 5 stars, neither is quality.

My book is in the same genre as Slaughterhouse 5, or The Unbearable Lightness of Being, whatever genre that is. It's not as good, but in the same genre.

First review of Gone Like a Goldfish. It's free on Kindle Unlimited. "...at one point I stopped reading in admiration. 'Boy can this guy write' moments were off the charts. I expect I shall read it again before too long."

About to get on a plane. I expect this to be a bestseller by the time it lands.

I'm old but I like to go to bars to see the young people who are so happy because they don't know it's going to end. They are so oblivious to the horror that they are even able to dance. I've always known it's going to end. I've never danced. Every joy has been the tip of a mono no aware iceberg.
