On current evidence there just aren't that many pro-Europeans in the UK. Or if there are, now might be a good time for them to speak. There's a lot of people who like arguing about minutiae of terms and conditions, but I think that's a different category of folk.
Pro-Europeans really need to get their act together if they're going to sieze the opportunity which is being presented here. Press and broadcasters reverting right back to their previous position from 2016, with zero update.

Still going on. Twenty minutes uninterrupted coverage so far. Robert Jenrick is currently talking about sex chat bots.
BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

OMG 😱 All those trees were « unstable »?! I’d really would like to see that analysis @florencefrelinx.bsky.social and I assume a lot of people want the same. www.bruzz.be/actua/biodiv...
Cut-price symbolism for Schuman. Each MS could adopt a pot. "A Brussels MP launched a proposal suggesting surrounding it with a ring of 27 trees in pots or large containers, each representing an EU Member State." www.brusselstimes.com/brussels-2/2...
1971. The new Schuman is complete with neat hexagons, probably representing the original six. But there are 12 of them so symbolically it's fine until the enlargement of 1995.

The facade of the 1899 avenue Louise mansion built by Victor Horta for the founder of Le Creuset is going on public display, laid flat. It's also going to be a training tool for future restoration specialists. From Nov 7, Berchem-Sainte-Agathe.

The immigration doom loop, summed up here by @gabyhinsliff.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
1. I think this is very good 2. It is illustrated with an unusual image, even if it is one of the blandest examples of Brussels architecture.
I finally succumbed and set up a substack. I'm still working this out, but here's the first of what might become weekly therapy for the UK-EU relationship. rejoinrejoin.substack.com/p/go-big-or-...
The facade of the house was dismantled in 1950 after an unsuccessful attempt to ship it to the US. It was nearly re-erected next to place Royale, then a site opposite the Wild Geese pub. I wrote about it here. www.brusselstimes.com/belgium/1892...

New podcast episode! 🇫🇷 What really happened in France on Saturday? 🇫🇷 Are we in for another 6 months of violent protests? 🇫🇷 Why does this all link to French debt? . . and, on a lighter note, the best 🇫🇷 food festivals (this is my favourite recent episode, goes from violence and looting to lemon art)
