So excited to see this fun collaboration with Andrew Chisholm out in the world. So much to do with this aECM toolkit for matrix biology, aging, stress, pathogenesis research! Found a striking diversity of localization patterns for different components.
Barrier #epithelia are protected by apical extracellular matrices (aECMs). This Resource by @gotworms.bsky.social @ucscscience.bsky.social &co generates a toolkit of 105 fluorescently tagged aECM components and defines reference markers for key substructures. 🧪 #AcademicSky #Celegans plos.io/4sggBS0

It was an immense pleasure to host the great @erincram.bsky.social @emoryuniversity.bsky.social Erin gave a 🤯 seminar on how the tiny tube (spermatheca) stretches to accommodate the giant oocyte in C. elegans! Everyone should hear about this stunning science!
Great to see this beautiful work published!

Sad to see that Don passed, he was a legend and a big part of why our community is so special. 🤯 20% of the collection?!!
The worm community has lost a true legend with the passing of Don Moerman. Don's impact on C. elegans research is beyond measure. A friend to many of us here in MN, his work has been invaluable, contributing >5,400 strains (VC & DM) to the CGC, 20% of our collection!
Great to see this out. Practical guidance on how to use protein depletion systems in C. elegans
Check out this review in #GENETICS from @gotworms.bsky.social, @cgc-worms.bsky.social, and others describing the first release in the Curated Special Collections for #Celegans, highlighting protein degradation systems and how to achieve targeted protein deletion in #nematode #worms. buff.ly/lEaf2T2

Don’t forget to register for the C. elegans topic meeting June 10-14 in Madison, WI. Early bird registration deadline this Friday 2/27! uwmadison.eventsair.com/mapsdev26/
Excited to see this out in the world. The CGC is launching a curated strains collection, the first being protein degradation systems and this is a pilot primer to pair with it authored by myself, Dave Reiner, Ann Rougvie, and Aric Daul. We review the state of the field and provide use guidance (1)

For the life of me, I cannot fathom the rationale for any of this. Utter wanton destruction of one of the best research ecosystems in the world.

Exactly. My R35 council meeting has been cancelled without clear rescheduling. No idea when I know if I can keep lab funded. MRAC study section I reviewed for cancelled at last minute. So much wasted effort and anxiety for folks.
This is a distinction without a difference. If there are no council meetings, funding is still being withheld and reviewer time is being wasted.
