I have spoken to the bowels of the earth and it has told me that there is no sin.

I agree. I will say though, sometimes it's ok for something to just be over. You got the stories that were told and a lot of times that should just be it. This idea that IP needs to keep going on forever and ever is bad for the human soul. Moving on is oftentimes a good thing.

Does it need to be said that Mass Effect shouldn’t exist without the developers and team that was working on this game? Either they come back and make the game they were, or Mass Effect dies. kotaku.com/mass-effect-...

Erasing the contributions of groups like STAR, centering the methodology of the Mattachine society, and acting like trans rights is the new kid on the block that needs to learn from the history of the specifically 'gay' struggle feels like a joke without a punchline.

grall101.bsky.social reposted

I think the thing that bothers me about this line of reasoning the most is that it completely erases the fact that trans people were actively and significantly involved with the LGBT movement, and are now having rights which were gained from decades of struggle actively removed by erstwhile 'allies'

shitlibs, breathless, desperately moving the goalposts with hammers and prybars: Well not ALL Democrats are trying to take away trans rights! You still have to vote for them! *Slur slur slur*

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

I try to give Jay White the benefit of the doubt so that maybe I can see why people like him. Every time I am utterly baffled. The Last Outfit is a bad name but I could forgive that if White had actually given a reason to target the Death Riders instead of spouting catchphrases. This dude stinks.

there is absolutely no defense of this. i'm excited to hear democrats tell me that this was important because there's a FREAKING RAPIST CHEETO IN THE WHITEHOUSE or something

Adam Bonica@adambonica.bsky.social

Once mass spam texts were made legal, younger donors vanished, leaving a grassroots fundraising machine that subsists on squeezing vulnerable seniors, some of whom give hundreds of times a day. It’s a horrific model. Consultants get generationally wealthy, and the party hollows out its future.

The only thing which separated democrat ghouls from republican ones in the summer of 2020 is that the democrats called for cops to shoot protesters, and republicans celebrated when Rittenhouse did. So let's not pretend that it was 'democrats' in the streets back then.

Like am I the only one remembering how liberals fell in line behind Biden while he was talking about how the George Floyd protests were a bunch of anarchist extremists, how he would support better funding for the police, etc? That was your guy, that was your platform!

One of the things I find most annoying about liberals is how they pretend to not only genuinely care about all the injustices of the world, but that they care about those injustices more than anyone else- while they refuse to acknowledge their role in preventing any resolution to those injustices.

Yeah, sure: you were so mad about the police killing people that you gave them a bunch of extra money over it, so mad about Covid that you decided to stop taking precautions about it after the Democrats won, and so mad about ICE concentration camps that you forgot they existed until Trump won again.

Drunk On Mystery, but like....Spooky@drunkonmystery.bsky.social

I would add that they saw the specific combination of COVID and George Floyd as a thing that would radicalize people into joining them on every issue, and resent the people that were like: "No, we really were just mad about COVID and George Floyd. We don't actually want to destroy the US Government"

when people are nostalgic for FDR, eisenhower or LBJ it's worth realizing that those men were all imperialist war criminals and monsters, they just remembered they had a responsibility to provide for the imperial core. modern liberals have forgotten the bread and circuses that they're supposed to do

Nearly 50k peeps in the US die every year cause they can't afford healthcare. Every Dem knows this is the case and Biden for example completely left this problem untouched. This is a dire emergency that should be "doomed" about and libs that act like "this is just reality" are the real nihilists.

youtubers, streamers, podcasters, etc are always on this beat bc they don't know how anything works & know that if they say something like this, their audiences will lap it up now & also 3 years later when they point to total gay commie revolution not happening and go "see? i was right!"

Certain accounts love to say that 'oh these kids just don't understand how things work' and then not actually contest the actual specific claims that were made in favor of making weird strawmen about them, but we shouldn't hold that against them; it's just how they're programmed.

If people were actually serious about eliminating drug and human trafficking they would call for the destruction of the CIA, ICE, and the entire DHS. If those agencies didn't exist it would immediately drop that shit by like 85% overnight.

abolishing ICE is a conservative compromise position. the entire DHS should be shut down and everyone involved in it should be prosecuted.

a party that has room for bigots and fascists is a bigoted, fascist party. do not support a democratic party that refuses to make our rights non-negotiable in the way they will make cis people's rights

Not at all picking on this poster, so don't let me catch you being mouthy, but the bast majority of Democrats are pro-trans and have records of being pro trans There are over 10,000 elected Democrats in fed and state gov, so don't get distracted by a small handful getting headlines being anti-trans

If AI's level of "consciousness" grants it human like moral consideration then you are obligated to liberate every PetSmart you come across at gunpoint. Until I see these AI fetishists grapple with the morality of pet ownership with the same breathless credulity as lines of code, I ain't care.

Paul Wight is so fun on commentary. He's just a loveable goof with old school sensibilities that is just a delight. May he never ever ever give a personal opinion in an interview so that I can continue to like behemoth wrestling grandpa. 🤼‍♂️

There's the obvious failure of the metaphor here but part of why Sisyphus got stuck with the boulder was because he was an unrepentant liar. Good thing that won't come into play with all this AI business.
