I’ve heard the Mustang and Camaro compared to European GT cars, but the difference is that the original “pony cars” were cheap cars aimed at teenagers. The real American grand tourers were luxury muscle coupes like the Mercury Cougar, Chrysler Cordoba, and Buick Grand National.

The powerful executives who cozied up to Trump didn't oops accidentally forget about pendulum swings. They either: 1) Like the fascism 2) Calculated it was here to stay, so going along was savvy 3) Saw no real downside, no consequences when the pendulum swung Crucial to show them 3 was a mistake

Noticed “The Jetsons” was on Hulu. Man, the episode “A Date With Jet Screamer” must have felt dated even when it came out. The titular rock idol looks and sounds a lot more like a 1950s greaser or beatnik than, say, The Beatles.

I remember IDW and Dark Horse were thinking of doing a Star Trek/Alien crossover a while ago. TBH, that could have only worked if it was set in the Enterprise-era (which conveniently is the 22nd century like Alien and Aliens)

Original Series Star Trek has too many tools at hand to neutralize the xenomorph’s advantages. Tricorders to find where they’re hiding, phasers to disintegrate them without spilling any acid blood, medicine advanced enough to abort the chestburster and save the host.

The new Jaguar is kinda everything I don’t like about modern car design. It’s a block with all of the distinguishing and/or practical features reduced. Thin headlights, thin tires, thin doorhandles, thin windows. Highly aerodynamic, but not built for human use.

Ace Combat is mecha anime but with more practical vehicles. Metal Gear is mecha anime but the protagonist doesn’t get to pilot a mech (at least until MGS4).

Kids know it's OK to hug their granny if they want to. What they don't know is that it's OK to *not* hug granny when they do not want to. It's important to teach that to children and these people don't want us to.
