Today’s analysis of inflation by Ireland’s CSO on age &class shows (as we’d guess) that lower inc & younger people are hardest hit and as price rises are being driven by energy, it is imperative to move asap to green energy. It’llbe more stable than fossil esp with psychos like Trump & Putin around.

Brazil going the way of South Korea. Basically around the world women are desperately trying to keep power out of the hands of incredibly stupid fascistic grifters while men keep trying to hand it over. Men are an embarrassing cringe gender.

Note how you NEVER see an expectation or suggestion that prices will go down, despite companies trying to get rid of more than a quarter of their workforce because they don't want to pay them. AI's only purpose is to turn the wages of workers into profit for capitalists.

Heads need to roll for this. Cabinet ministers can't just lie to the public like this. #Spéirgorm

Throughout the entire Fare Hike saga, Government maintained this was a decision by the NTA We now know it was the Dept of Public Expenditure & it was decided 12 months ago Government lied to to the public, the did it repeatedly, & they did it intentionally

Remember when "There's an app for that" was something that seemed interesting and good? Now it feels like every website or service you want to use has every possible function in a different app and half of them only works your previous OS and the other half only work with the next OS

Except the app used for you to give them money. That always works and comes in 73 different languages and is proofed against any and all android or iOS updates

If you get a new dangerous dog and you tell everyone it's dangerous and you let the dog off leash in a kid's playground and it bites a kid, the dog will be put down and you will be held responsible. Unless you're an AI company in which case you say "it could have killed us all!" and everyone claps

What if we treated them like the toddlers they are and instead of reporting on the hissy fits like they were serious things that meant anything we just said “oh don’t be so silly” and “go and have a nap”

Tara Flynn@taraflynnirl.bsky.social

The last ten years really have been: Absolute toddlers having hissy fits until someone else’s rights get taken away The rights get taken away We all have to be really nice to the toddlers or we’re letting our side down What kind of eejits are we at all at all

I've lived long enough to watch "the center" move so far right that the GOP can now enthusiastically embrace racism, bigotry, white supremacy, dictatorship, rape, kidnapping and pedophilia and win national elections on that platform.

Sinn Féin morning meeting today: - Did you see the election results in Serbia and Brazil? - Oh I did aye, very unexpected. - I wonder if there's any lessons in that for us? - Let's go ask Matt Carthy, and maybe check Peadar's tweets, sure he's a gas man, Peadar! - Bang on.

Kids know it's OK to hug their granny if they want to. What they don't know is that it's OK to *not* hug granny when they do not want to. It's important to teach that to children and these people don't want us to.

Darach Ó Séaghdha@darach.bsky.social

Yes, Brenda. All week those lefty freaks were trying to ban people hugging their granny. That’s definitely what happened. Another good faith take from the person who wants what’s best for everyone!

He thinks he has no morals or politics because his opinions as a cishet white man are the default. Anything else is a divergence from the norm and therefore a "stance"

Does John Banville think artists have a duty to take a stance on moral issues? His stand is apparently for amorality. www.independent.ie/irish-news/s...

My son did quite a few small bits and pieces until he was about 13 years old or so. 1 feature length movie, a few episodes of a major TV series, lots of ads and lots of promo photo shoots. He was paid for all that work. The 2 things he did for RTÉ earned him exactly €0.

Darach Ó Séaghdha@darach.bsky.social

While RT is back in the news I just want to vent a grievance. As the Toy Show -one broadcast, one day a year - grew bigger and more cinematic each year under his stewardship, the production of original children’s programming by RTÉ (where RT got his breaks) shrunk down to nothing.

You have to laugh at the sheer insanity of Turning Point UK being found to be organising literal contract killings and paid agitation at protests up and down the country and it barely even raises a flicker across the press. If that isn't 'terrorism' on some level I don't really know what is

This government, who moved with rapidity to remove this campaign from circulation, targeting a charity with attacks on their credibility, responded earlier this year to the mass production of non-consensual sexual imagery on X with little more than a shrug.

A lot of international coverage of Ireland opens with a preamble about how it used to be a poor, conservative country but recently became wealthy and liberal. Given that we now have adults born in 2008, I wonder if it is time to retire this preamble? They don’t use it for Norway or South Korea…

I find it quite odd that Jim O Callaghan, minister for justice is complaining that the only cases affected by the legal work to rule are rape cases. He was the one who pushed for therapy notes to be made available for this sort of trial. He does not have to best interest of the victim at heart.
