The CBC has projected Alberta has chosen to stay in Canada. 🇨🇦🍁 With more than 1 million votes counted, about 76% supported remaining in Canada, compared with 23% who backed beginning a process that could lead to separation. ❤️🍁🇨🇦TEAM CANADA FOREVER🇨🇦🍁❤️ ❤️🍁🇨🇦VIVE LE CANADA🇨🇦🍁❤️

@guardtheleaf.bsky.social might like this. This is from Beer Temple, an "American Beer Bar" in Amsterdam Sunday this week. The USA part of the menu is down to 2 boards of 5, and there are now 2 International -- one which is almost entirely Québec -- and one Dutch. (1/2)

In June 2025, there were 3 full menu boards of USA beer, with USA and Canada sharing a 4th board. Dutch and International shared the 5th board, if my memory serves -- I didn't take a picture because it wasn't as dramatic a change as this year. (2/2)

I'm not saying the CEO of Escarpment Labs is getting ready to pour lager from a cask from about 4m off the ground. But I will say Lallemand might have to up their game a bit. Makes me proud to be Canadian... and definitely happy to be at Carnivale Brettanomyces at De Kromme Haring.

So I'm not saying all the posts of Newfie Mess made me do this... but when I saw Frites Carbonnade at Brasserie de la Senne in Brussels I just had to have some. (It's delicious.)

Oh great here we go again. The petition won't make them stop but I do like seeing the condescending ways the goverment says our opinions are irrelevant. Well not exactly like.

UK PEOPLE: this is REALLY IMPORTANT. If the government bans under-16s from using VPNs, then logically they must intend to REQUIRE AGE VERIFICATION FOR ALL VPN USE. Which will affect adults too! *Your* right to anonymous web browsing is at risk! https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/754408

Look what is still running stopping service on the south-west main line! Far rather take a worn, unmaintained 455 than the 458s with absolutely zero provision for standing passengers.

It's World AIDS Day; so here's a picture from Toronto's Pride parade back in 1992. AIDS Action Now! organised "die-ins": the whole parade stopped and we took turns drawing chalk outlines around each other. #WorldAIDSDay

Today is World AIDS Day. Since 1988, communities have stood together on World AIDS Day to show strength and solidarity against HIV stigma and to remember lives lost. For more information about how you can support this cause visit worldaidsday.org #WorldAIDSDay #EndHIVStigma #HIVAwareness

Here's a picture from August 2004 of a sunset over one of the smaller lakes around Kennisis Lake, Ontario. (Reposted 'cause I put the 2014 in the first attempt.)

Way back in mid-August 2004 I worked late to do a server migration. Stopped off at Nathan Philips Square on the way home; I'd just gotten a new camera and wanted to try it at night.

You are up to date.
