First they gave placards to the cops, and I did not speak out. Then they gave placards to the teachers and I did not speak out. Then they gave placards to the doormen and I did not speak out. Then no one paid for any parking because what even is a placard anyway?

Just rode an express Metro-North train through White Plains and apparently they use Spanish Solution boarding. Are there any other MTA railway/subway stations that do that? I thought I saw subways actively avoid doing so (e.g.: 7 trains in Flushing)

Why did my neighbor’s car get booted? Was it for: A. removing his muffler (causing his neighbors to lose sleep) B. For standing (constantly) in a school zone with said lack of muffler) C. having 10 traffic violations in the past year D. Obscuring their license plate E. Not paying child support?

The answer is E! The attempt at towing his car for obscuring his license plate 7 months ago was unsuccessful (probably because the fenders are so low it’s hard to tow without damaging the vehicle). I hate to generalize…but c’mon!!

there is something poetic about how MAGAs in their 12 mpg F-150s will be hit the hardest while coastal libs who take transit will have the least exposure to skyrocketing oil prices

Today is UNESCO #InternationalMotherLanguageDay. We are sharing this 1962 #NYCsubway multilingual courtesy campaign poster. The poster is an early example of language-inclusive signage in transit, and marks the beginning of public service announcements geared toward New York's diverse communities.

Transit folks: does anyone have something to reference for the time value of money? I want to calculate at what income level a person would choose one route over another if their expected earnings were taken into account (e.g.: when is an extra 30 that saves $20 worth it).

Say what you want about the JFK Air Train but I’ve never seen a more clear description of frequencies of service in NYC. I put that above my project trying to explain the frequencies of the NYC subway as well!

NYC transit wins just keep coming this year!

You are up to date.
