If she exists, it could be the same ancient being being venerated as a different goddess through the lenses of different cultures and times. We know from Dr. Pasulka that the Vatican is really into studying Marian Apparitions which are appearances of this goddess to people.

Did the new Pope decide to take Leo as his name to point to this prophecy? Is it a nod from the Catholic Church that they are awaiting the coming of their Virgin Mary next year around Easter? Or maybe it's subtler than that. Maybe the new Pope felt drawn to that name in some inexplicable way.
