We are professional DNA traffic controllers and study how transcription and replication are moving smoothly (most of the time).

Small contribution to the eternal match happening inside every cell: in the red corner, replication. In the blue corner, transcription. Both convinced they own the genome. Another amazing collaboration with @hamperllab.bsky.social and @luijsterburglab.bsky.social lnkd.in/ey9tH7YF

Our latest research is online in the @biorxivpreprint.bsky.social! 🧬🎉 🔎 We have developed a novel, single-cell real-time approach to monitor R-loop generated TRCs, and we have shown R-loop-mediated, replisome-controlled transcription repression. www.biorxiv.org/cgi/content/...
Additionally, Tsirkas et al. show that R-loops, under specific conditions, can be beneficial for cells, by reducing excessive RNAPII load on highly-transcribing genes, thus preventing potential TRCs. We are very happy to see this project led by @ioannistsirkas.bsky.social reach the final stages! 🥳
Such a nice review for one of our latest research works!

🚨Paper Alert! 👏 Big congrats to @marcelwerner.bsky.social, ManuelTrauner & rest of @hamperllab.bsky.social team for this brilliant work! 🧬 Check out their amazing research diving into how #TRCs and DOT1L impact genome stability. A must-read 🧵 for #transcription, #replication & #epigenetics fans👇!
I am delighted to share the main work of my PhD project in the @hamperllab.bsky.social now out in @narjournal.bsky.social. TRCs drive R-loop-dependent nucleosome eviction and require DOT1L activity for transcription recovery. academic.oup.com/nar/article/... #TRC #r-loop #chromatin More below 👇

How can we improve gene regulatory network inference from noisy scRNA-seq data? Our new review in @molsystbiol.org explores the latest methods integrating prior knowledge to enhance reliability. Plus, some suggestions on how to improve benchmarking! www.embopress.org/doi/full/10....
Proud to share our latest publication in @narjournal.bsky.social! A fantastic team effort led by @marcelwerner.bsky.social and Manuel T., where we explore the chromatin dynamics at transcription-replication conflicts (TRC) sites and their impact on genome stability using a novel TRC reporter system.
