Trump's cavalier attitude towards the future of Taiwan is dangerous and upends decades of American policy. There's no "strategic ambiguity" about Trump’s naive words. He is rolling out the red carpet for Xi in Taiwan.

The kinda conversation you have when you attend a dictator party.

“.. Quite a hot mic moment on CCTV in Beijing today as Putin and Xi, both 72 years old, are caught casually talking about living to 150 and maybe forever thanks to organ transplants. (As picked up by Bloomberg.)” (via @yarotrof.bsky.social)

My parents lived half of their lives under martial law, and my country is currently under the threat of an authoritarian regime. I know a dictator when I see one.

UPDATE: The official focus of the parade is the commemoration of the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary. But critics say the president is using the military show of force to push a political agenda and celebrate his birthday, which happens to fall on the same date.

Israel wants to stop the freedom flotilla from delivering humanitarian aid. Trump wants to stop Angelenos from helping their fellow Angelenos from being kidnapped by ICE. Authoritarians are afraid of mutual aid and solidarity. So we will need much more mutual aid and solidarity.

"My name is Greta Thunberg and I am from Sweden. If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces, or forces that support Israel."

And… I watched the same thing happen during the Hong Kong protests in 2019 (as of what’s going on in LA right now)

I watched the same thing happen in Andor Season 2.

Donald Trump’s deployment of the military in Los Angeles over the objection of California leaders is an abuse of power and a dangerous escalation. It’s what you would see in authoritarian states and it must stop. Americans have the right to speak out and peacefully protest.

Trump administration is wielding its power like an authoritarian government and legitimizing it when being called out. Are we watching America becoming China?

Q: "Could we really see active duty Marines on the streets of Los Angeles?" Johnson: "I don't think that's heavy handed." Q: "You don't think sending Marines into the streets of an American city is heavy handed?" Johnson: "We have to be prepared to do what is necessary."

ONE WEEK UNTIL NO KINGS DAY! At this time next Saturday, we will be taking to the streets across the country. While Trump wastes millions on a birthday parade in DC, we’re showing up everywhere else to say NO KINGS. There are nearly 2,000 events planned. Join us: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE=i...

Beijing not only killed Chinese citizens on June 4, 1989 — they rewarded soldiers who participated with commemorative watches. They are hard to come across now — evidence of murder. The watch features in YOU MUST TAKE PART IN REVOLUTION, co-authored with @badiucao.bsky.social. Never forget.

Why is remembrance of #TiananmenSquare massacre so important? If the event was erased/forgotten by history the 10,000+ of Chinese pro-democracy protester lives killed and millions of lives destroyed by the actions of the #CCP will become meaningless as their only "sin" is to desire freedom. #六四八九

You are up to date.
