Hampshire College started with a grand promise: to serve as "a vehicle for the realization of self in society." This fall, the school will close its doors. I talked to some of its founders, faculty, students, administrators, and board members about what its loss means thebaffler.com/latest/class...

thebaffler.comClass Dismissed | Hannah GaisPrivate liberal arts schools were never going to kickstart the revolution. But the closure of Hampshire College further narrows the political imaginary.

Weird thing to say especially when you’re a guy that eats literal roadkill.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

No one knows what a documentary is.

STAT@statnews.com

“'You Can See Everything' is a hilarious, thrilling, fascinating, beautiful piece of art. What it certainly is not is a documentary, and it’s dangerous to pretend that it is,” writes Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz. https://bit.ly/4Bk2nDJ

The illegal voters Scott Presler was trying so desperately to find in Pennsylvania were living in his own home Really is the perfect distillation of the election denial movement

NEW: GOP operative Scott Presler built his reputation registering Republicans and accusing Dems of voter fraud. But a review by The Bulwark found GOP operatives from other states voting from his home—and evidence raising questions about their residency. www.thebulwark.com/p/gop-operat...

It sure is interesting that Jennica Pounds, who was until recently a former special government employee in the Pentagon, now suddenly has a book coming out. Because certainly the federal government has no ethics rules about that...

"Mister... Hitler"?

YIKES -- Trump loses his shit at a reporter for the third time during this Q&A -- "Wait wait -- Quiet. Quiet!!!! What's wrong with you? Are you a SICK person?"

Things got more insane just about as soon as I posted this last night. DHS is now arguing that we cannot even put the names of ICE officers in our lawsuit against those officers. Their position is that, if a defendant works for DHS, they cannot be named in a lawsuit. Never seen anything like it.

Jared@jaredmcclain.bsky.social

It's been a struggle for reporters to get DHS to provide the names of officers who violate people's civil rights. Now, in our case against DHS's construction-site raids, the government is arguing in court that its employees names are "confidential" and should not be made public during litigation.

lmao Chicago Cubs 2nd basemen Matt Shaw. The guy ditched his team in the middle of a playoff run to go to a podcaster's funeral that he used to be neighbors with and he's now playing minor league fascism.

The first drop of speakers for AM Fest 2026. Spencer Pratt lmao. Also note Gad Saad in case anyone was wondering if they are doubling down on their pro-Israel stance.

It's amazing that the left is the one really pulling the strings behind the Republican controlled House, Senate, White House, and majority Republican-appointed Supreme Court!

It's too pat to conclude, in essence, "gas prices --> blue wave." The public has tolerated high prices in the past and will again. The key is that this time the onus, the imperiousness, and the indifference are all unusually clear. 🧵 www.offmessage.net/p/donald-tru...

offmessage.netThe Anti-Tyranny BacklashThese people think we owe them gratitude and votes in exchange for bribes and false promises, while they they govern like they answer to no one. That’s precisely why they’re losing.

What Jennica Pounds is leaving out of this sob story about her gig at the Pentagon coming to a close is: In August, she promoted hacked and stolen material, per @theintercept.com. And she appeared to have a longstanding relationship with the account that first posted about said hack.

Michael Tracey published what he said was the ID of the "Jane Doe" in the Cornell case. Then he took it down, claiming he just wanted to make a point and didn't want to see harm to the person he named. What he hasn't admitted is that he mistook info on a sketchy site for official NY court records.

The Pentagon is notifying millions of current and former U.S. military servicemembers and staff that hackers stole their *unencrypted* personal information during a months-long data breach. The agency that had the breach also handles ID and login/credential access to U.S. military systems and bases.

Once again, the Supreme Court prioritizes imaginary harms done to Trump by not allowing him to indulge in his conspiracy theories, as opposed to the very real harm done to citizens who may lose the ability to vote in this case.

Democracy Docket@democracydocket.com

🚨 BREAKING: In a major loss for voters, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to allow the Trump administration to initiate voter roll purges using a flawed database involving Americans' private data. The ruling will disproportionately impact naturalized citizens who've been wrongly flagged in the system.
