This movie: biting racial commentary - without a single overt phrase or action, acknowledgment that hell is absolutely other people, indictment of the only roles women were allowed to inhabit in horror of the time, and an unflinching gaze on violence. :chef's kiss: #HorrorWatch

Of the whole movie, this is the part that scared me the most - Ben in the basement with the horde of zombies leaning against the door, and his 'oh fuck I am going to die' expression as he tries his best to guard against them. #HorrorWatch

Soundtracks in this era so often sound like they were pulled out of a generic "spooky movie" bucket. Just so the audience knew this wasn't a nice drive through the country. #HorrorWatch

On my fourth #BaldursGate3 play-through - decided to romance Gale (the wizard) instead of Astarion (sassy vampire). Gale: Has *nothing* to say to me. Seriously. Astarion: Has a bunch of new dialogue & approval ratings much higher than previous play-throughs Me: What.

Oddly enough, that "now I get to sting you" is pretty shivery. I think the vaguely jokey tone of the movie surrounding it makes it a bit of a shock. #HorrorWatch

Finally got my hands on "With Blood Upon His Teeth" by Adam McOmber - this is a great spooky book, so far. Run-down castle, gibbering shadows, possible portals to Faerie (in the most uncanny way), murders, deranged family secrets, suspicious retainers, and a piercingly sweet queer romance. #BookSky
