Ouch #HATM

This scene is where the movie is saying that you may laugh at parts, but remember that it’s still a horror film. #HATM

A movie that is similar to this and theme is The Hunt. It was released about one week before the pandemic really kicked in in early 2020, and it was the last movie I saw in theaters for over a year. Only two people are in the theater, including myself, the other guy had on a MAGA hat . #HATM

I know I’ve said it before, but still find it Interesting how the two movie genres with the highest ratio of female leads are romance and horror. #HATM

“It wss the 80s”. Sometimes that seemed to be used as a blanket explanation for a lot of taboo stuff, including many movies we watch! #HATM

This movie really does use the dark comedy to water down the horrific violence. #HATM

 I could make a comment about how telling someone who’s rolfing up blood everything is gonna be okay is a great illustration of the U.S. healthcare system, but I won’t . #HATM

 I think the fact that many of these people don’t even know how to use the weapons they have is probably a rather realistic aspect. Being a bunch of rich people they likely don’t. #HATM

Fun fact: Samara weaving has often been called the doppelgänger for Margot Robbie. So the 2022 film, Babylon had a brief scene where they were both cast as rival actresses. #HATM

 Something I liked about this movie was the fact that it used actual sets and a lot of practical Gore effects when they could. Give it a vibe from the 80s and 90s. Which was a great time for horror. #HATM

 Something that is obvious is that Aunt Helene is the member of the family that no one dare speak against. And every family has a member like that. #HATM

This was the first time I had seen Henry Czerny since the mid 90s , when he was a staple antagonist character actor for espionage thrillers . #HATM

 While I don’t think it would’ve helped the movie overall, I really do wish they had cast Samara Weaving as the new Agent Smith in Matrix Resurrections .  She would’ve probably been the best part of the movie and would’ve completely honored her uncle. #HATM

 Imagine the movie where they draw the card operation, but in involves performing an operation on an actual living human being? That could be an interesting horror movie. #HATM

Well, this had a good collection of characters, the sequel really double down on getting as many recognizable faces of the horror and supernatural genre as it could. #HATM

I just now noticed the little significant joke of it being bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her dress before the wedding. #HATM

 Samara Weaving has done a great job establishing herself as a genre actress. Same with Jessica Rothe from Happy Death Day and Jane Levy from Evil Dead . #HATM

1) All of them 2) Never got married myself, but I think several from outside found it interesting just how “churchy” southern families can get around holidays 3)Subway. #HATM

Most movies that receive universal acclaim seldom live up to the hype . This one actually does . #HATM

I do not currently have Netflix , but I DO have access to Apple movies where both this and its sequel are available to own as a bundle for a little less than $10 …. #HATM

I don’t have Netflix so I won’t be joining tonight.  But I have to say that while this is what put M. Nught on the map, I greatly prefer Unbreakable.  However, this is definitely a movie. That’s a totally different experience second viewing. Like Thr Prestige, my favorite Nolan flick. #HATM

1)1982’s The Thing still creeps me out , but for some reason the animated short of Sleepy Hollow from Disney always keeps me on edge . 2) Snakes and far right conservatives 3)House Fried Rice with some of my secret stash of giant egg rolls . #HATM

Interesting fact : most of the movies people watch for spooky season that have become classics were not released during that time period . Check IMDB for your favorites and chances are , it was either a late summer or a January/February release. #HATM

For any #HATM peeps looking for some fun stuff to listen to during spooky season , I recommend these two Audible selections. The first one is more of a radio drama, and the second was actually a publication by a n anthropologist that became a (pretty good ) horror flick.

For anyone who is a fan of this story and other stuff by Clive Barker, check out the first two Hellraiser films as well as Lord of illusions and night breed. He’s all about horror with depth . #HATM

 Interestingly, this movie seems to have a bit of a connection to the recent release and hit film Obsession.  if you haven’t seen it, check it out. #HATM

Tony Todd has such a commanding voice . Like Robert, England as Freddie and Doug Bradley’s pinhead, nobody really accepts anyone but him in this role. #HATM
