Interesting to watch Everton-Chelsea and Boro-Cardiff at the same time on TV to compare and contrast the similarities and differences. While being one of the biggest advocates for the EPL in this country for the past 20 years, I find myself continuing to watch more EFL than EPL for several reasons.

NBC over-dramatizing the scenes outside of Anfield before the Liverpool match with Rebecca Lowe saying that she hasn't seen things like this since the days of hooliganism. Lee Dixon, the voice of reason, saying that it's like any other game except there's a bit of an edge to it. #LFCMCI

It's incredible how much construction is going on this summer on either new stadiums or renovations to soccer stadiums in the UK... Wrexham, Aston Villa, Leeds, Luton Town, Crystal Palace, Manchester City and probably more that I'm unaware of.

This is the first I'm hearing of the MLS season starting back up again

It's 15 minutes to kick-off of the first MLS game in 2 months, the first since the start of this hugely successful World Cup. There is no pregame show. There is no scene-set that explains the first half of the season. There is nothing to welcome new viewers and connect the league to the past month.

Argentina deserved to win but the MLS referee was far too lenient at the beginning of the game He could have red carded one of the Argentines & could have dealt out a couple of yellows. They targeted Elliot Anderson Instead we heard John Strong & Stu Holden enthusing about how great the ref was

If only The Guardian US had nearly as much perspective as this excellent review. I'm really disappointed by how out of touch the @us.theguardian.com analysis has been about the USMNT during this World Cup. A big dropoff from what they had previously.

I go through every major USMNT tournament since 1990 to decide youtu.be/HV-8QCCC9q4?...

RIP Bonnie Tyler. An angelic singer with an incredible voice. I had a chance encounter with her when I was in Swansea, and she radiated such a beautiful aura. She will never be forgotten by music fans worldwide. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Years from now, US fans will remember World Cup 2026 for the 4-1 loss to Belgium in the Round of 16, but they won't remember who they beat in the Group Stage.

This is a good point, just look at how Germany and France buries Paraguay while the US struggled to create anything at all against them.

In every World Cup, it's the same thing. US TV & journalists hype the national team way too much, believing that they can win it. And then reality hits them FOX & others know that hype translates into dollars. More people watching. More advertisers spending Why does the US fall for it every time?

At the Post match press conference in Orlando after the last warm-up match Tuchel said having a weather delay with great preparation for what might happen during the tournament. Today is that moment.

Eilidh Barbour was so poor on the BBC 5 Live radio commentary of Australia-Egypt. The point of a radio commentator is to paint a picture of what's happening on the pitch. Radio is not TV! & then she miscalculated the penalties and prematurely said that Egypt had won She's not cut out for World Cup

Between all of the hydration breaks, the number of substitutions and the referee blowing his whistle every couple of.minutes for a foul, Mexico played a beautiful first half and an uneventful second half against a very poor Ecuador team.

So far, this World Cup has been weak There have been no shock victories. And there have been too many one-sided victories France, Holland and Argentina have mostly impressed. But again, in wins where they were completely dominant (except for the Japan-Netherlands draw which was very entertaining)

USMNT continues its winless streak against European teams in the World Cup The last time the US defeated a European team in the World Cup was 24 years ago when the US shocked Portugal Hopefully the US will finally beat a European team again when it faces Bosnia and Herzegovina next week. #USMNT

FOX has done a great job at selecting the commentators for this FIFA World Cup 2026. The USA has come a long way from hiring basketball (Gus Johnson) and baseball announcers (Dave O'Brien) to call the biggest games on US TV.

On the pitch, it's been an underwhelming World Cup so far. Too many teams competing in the World Cup, thus diluting the quality of the games we've seen thus far. Overall, there have been too many one-sided games. i.e. Lots of boring matches. Best part of the World Cup so far has been the Scots

While the US soccer journalists are composing their softball questions for FIFA, the hard hitting foreign journalists are literally being blocked by Infantino's goons.

FIFA Congress in Vancouver. Gives you an idea of the environment the press has to navigate. Questions to Infantino were about Peace Prize and ticketing. Infantino: "I will comment whenever I decide to comment on everything." Kunti in the brown pull.

Bedlam at Rochdale vs York. What an ending to the game, & York are promoted back to the EFL Next up is relegation dogfight with West Ham & Spurs both playing games at same time, so we'll be 1 step closer to knowing who may be edging closer to relegation Promotion and relegation, you gotta love it

I like that MLS carves out Saturday night for games instead of trying to schedule matches during early or mid afternoons. It's easier for fans of European football to watch their games in the morning and afternoons. And then if they want, to watch MLS at night.

The number of soccer journalists who post about US players getting any match time screams inferiority complex. We want to see US footballers do well. However we don't want or need updates anytime any of the players get minutes during a game.

Spurs have to replace Igor Tudor if they want to salvage any chance of staying up. But who? Igor doesn't have the personality or man management skills to boost the confidence of the players. Spurs have backed themselves into a corner where they've run out of time and run out of viable options.
