This is a liberal take on capitalism complaining about income inequality. Karl Marx's focus was, instead, on how capitalists used profits to invest in endlessly imposing work, either more intense work from those employed or more put to work. Inequality is just to divide workers vs solidarity.

Minor detail: Democrats did those things because millions of people were in the streets raising hell & demanding them. True to their capitalist owners they also did so in ways that maintained the pharma-medical-industrial complex instead of creating universal healthcare.

Ending Citizens United should only be the beginning. ALL monetary support to politicians should be ended, before & after elections, including their own funds. Campaigning should take place in public spaces about ideas & policies, funded (until we get rid of money altogether) by taxpayers.

Smiling is part of waiters' job description. McDonald's once openly advertised "We hire smiles". One of my favorite strikes was by employees in an Italian department store who launched a "smile strike" - no more smiles to customers until they got a decent contract. They won.😊 Empathize!
