A self-intro in less than 300 characters. I'm Josh, aka Kirin / HDKirin in online spaces. Life-long video game enjoyer & been writing about them for a decade mostly at RPG Site. Love watching anime as well. I like experiencing things myself & meeting new people in general. Thanks for your support!

Very happy to see that Final Fantasy Resonance doing extremely well both in overall reception from players & player numbers. I've seen both Director Furuya & Producer Nakashima express how happy they are on their socials with everyone's support so far. That's awesome for them & the dev team.

Started my replay of Fate/Extra a few days ago. It's a bit of a bummer knowing that these two won't be in the remake.

We'll share them officially on the RPG Site socials as the game unlocks in more territories - probably as it unlocks on Steam later today. Just wanted to give a heads-up to those that are playing it early.

The much awaited Muv-Luv spin-off, Schwarzesmarken, finally got announced for Steam. It will be releasing in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, & Traditional Chinese. Announced at the Muv-Luv Presents 2026 event.

Giving a heads-up that this week's Famitsu scans will be delayed, since Bookwalker is currently down on an extended maintenance because of the major PHP vulnerability stuff.

The demo is now available for SHUEISHA GAMES and iMel's visual novel "Seasons of Books and Keys." The game is an adaptation of "Hyouka" author Honobu Yonezawa's mystery novel which will release for Steam and Switch this winter in English, Japanese, and Chinese. store.steampowered.com/app/4972460/

Hayes (@solfleet.bsky.social) wrote a wonderful review of Final Fantasy Resonance for RPG Site. I've also gotten the chance to play & beat the game as well & agree with many of his points. It's a solid turn-based RPG with a cool flexible battle system that opens up an abyss of experimentation.

Final Fantasy Resonance sports one of the best turn-based combat systems seen in years, bolstered by lovable characters and a genuinely stunning presentation. But it's slightly held back from full greatness by a lackluster story and odd pacing. Our review: www.rpgsite.net/review/21594...

My review of Stupid Never Dies went up earlier. If you are a fan of interesting 7/10 games, this might be up your alley. I think it's a lovely game that is pretty risky as a new studio's first title & I respect that a lot.

Stupid Never Dies is an enjoyable action RPG, though not without its own share of flaws. It won't jive with everyone, but those who resonate with Davy's zombie body-morphing journey will fall in love with it. https://www.rpgsite.net/review/21590-stupid-never-dies-review

As one of the few people in the west who bought the Theme Song of Tales -25th Anniversary Opening Movie Collection- Blu-ray, I am SUPER GLAD that they did not just merely copy & paste Eternia's poorly upscaled OP in Eternia Remastered. It looks relatively much, MUCH better. (Original vs Remaster)

Since getting a new good Gundam game is out of the question these days, just... keep on re-releasing the old ones like Gundam SEED Battle Destiny Remastered. Though I feel like I'm playing with fire because this will somehow monkey's paw into a UE5 remake of MS Saga: A New Dawn or some shit.

Pay $100 to play GTA6 with all shops available. Pay $100 to play FE with all character routes available. Modern gaming.

Still unsure if procrastinating on Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave was the right(?) decision. I have a lot of other games to get to, so maybe FW is just gonna be a next year thing??? Very end of the year thing??? Do I even care thing?????

I am very happy that my favorite Tales game seems to have received a master-class remaster treatment. Thank you TOSE gods.

After an unfortunate, unintended delay missing its initial September 17 release date, Akiba Lost is finally releasing on Steam on October 20. This is the new sound novel that heavily resembles the presentation style of 428: Shibuya Scramble. store.steampowered.com/news/app/413...

Lowkey amazing day for light novel announcements for official English releases with Fate/strange Fake and Kino’s Journey. The latter especially is super exciting to me.

I watched them launch a Vanillaware game on Steam for me at the Marvelous JP office and then handed me a controller to play it.
