Finally watched WNR. <SPOILER> My feelings are STILL mixed, especially about the ending. But FUCK, I BAWLED near the end. Seeing heartbroken Homu giving up protecting Madoka and letting her go toward the fate she chose and blaming herself for all that happened.. That moment gave me all the feels..

But LoC attacking Homura twice could sort of count as that (despite not exactly with Madoka's conscience). The way this hurts is special to her, but she's so ready to be "punished" by the one she's breathing for 😭💔

<Spoiler> The moment when Madoka (awakening to LoC) has shot an arrow towards Homura and she just fully accepted and succumbed to being shot by her, feeling backstabbed 💔 She expected it in Rebellion since when she assumed Madoka might want to be her enemy once she remembers

"My very best friend"... 😭💔 Yes, Madoka, Homu will always be the best friend one could ask for. Yet nobody was truly the "very best friend" for her in particular.

I've heard they will get a lot of focus and the movie is lore-centric.. That's not what fits as the Rebellion sequel imo. They should keep it the Holy Quintet centric and bring a proper resolution and closure of the MadoHomu conflict. Can a single MadoMagi story not involve ambiguity?
