Basically, the United States is running short of key munitions because the insecure man-children running the country keep firing off expensive stand-off emotional support munitions as a desperate act of gender-affirming self-care. Alas, there are not enough TLAMs to make Trump or Hegseth into men.

Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social

The Iran war is the main reason for the US munitions shortage, but the Trump regime has done multiple things to cause it. They tried a similar cowardly bully strategy in Yemen in 2025: talk big, fire off advanced missiles while avoiding riskier action, fail to accomplish anything, then quit.

Miller Lite stat o' the day 332,411,218 the number of books Dolly gave access to children through today a truly historically great American

@jesawyer.bsky.social 's Pillars of Eternity handles this so well, with guns having meaningful scaling and efficacy tradeoffs. A real all-around triumph, but this aspect of the game in particular is so immersive and satisfying.

For us this was a long time period with a lot of technological and political innovation and it kind of speaks to how lazy a lot of the gunpowder fantasy attempts are that they never really explore any of that despite having even more space to do so with magic and fantasy races

Another Infantino fix. First England goal should have been a drop after the ball hit the camera wire, and the Norway goal should have stood. Gonna wallow in bitterness for a few days, and then support England.

Absolutely - these commentators noting over and over how “X player was watching in the stands last World Cup” - so their parents took them to Qatar for a WC match? Not exactly a typical upbringing

Anyway, if the USMNT ever want to be world class we need MLS academies to be much bigger and have way more openings for lower- and middle-class children. It's true but makes you a bore at parties so it's the perfect fact for Bluesky.

A theory I haven't seen anyone offer yet is that the success AI has had with computer programming is because computer programming is not actually very difficult and just appeared difficult to outsiders because it was incompetently taught and gatekept for decades

This has been something I've been meaning to write for quite some time and the Homer contretemps gave it the opportunity. The thing I most wanted to draw out is that it isn't one fool on Twitter with a helmet, but a radicalization pipeline designed to lead antiquity-curious young men into fascism.

It's absolutely wild to me that these people cannot accept the truth that the economy has been historically good in aggregate, and that their actual complaint is within nuanced contors of the economy that show persistant inequality at the tails and relative decline among some pockets/professions

really unfortunate that people—less and less, I hope—continue to take this conspiracy theorist loon seriously

Interesting short from here is $LAND, a farmland REIT already in fairly bad shape (vacancies climbing, issuing stock and selling land to keep the dividend), and where a fertilizer price spike and the effects of terrorizing immigrant workers could soon appear in the bottom line.

Alex from our time working together, while he was in nursing school. Later, he moved to ICU, working as a nurse to support critically ill Veterans. He had such a great attitude. We’d chat between patients about trying to get in a mountain bike ride together. Will never happen now

Now that’s a Senator I can be proud to support.

I have watched the video of the horrible ICE shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis over & over. It is grotesque to hear Kristi Noem justify her killing as a response to "domestic terrorism” & for Trump to spread further lies on social media. [1/2]

This is also a consistent phenomenon in RAM and NAND specifically, where double ordering is the norm and take or pay contracts never really get enforced.

it's less than 20% of what it looks like on paper. Industrial orders are the same exact thing, it's how we get the inventory cycles that every manufacturing sector has had to manage for ~300 years now. figuring out what is *guaranteed to stick around* demand versus paper demand is hard! 2/2

Lowe’s outperforming Home Depot could mean the latter’s cooperation with ICE is starting to bite. Might be a re-evaluation of that approach coming soon.

Rahul Sharma@retailguru.bsky.social

Expectations lower post Depot, but Lowes reassuring. Relatively rare but $LOW out-comped $HD by 30bp & points to positive November comp despite storm hit. While guide lowered modestly, this seems largely expectations management/deal related $XLY $XLF

@espiers.bsky.social @emilyflitter.bsky.social yeah can’t see anything wrong with this decisions this editorial team is making, 10/10, no way these same people were ignoring Epstein leads

Is Germany in 1933 not fascist? Not sure you’re making the case you think you are by arguing Trump and his coterie haven’t managed to do a totalitarianism yet

Tom Nichols@radiofreetom.bsky.social

If we were living under fascism, none of you would be here daring to post things. You'd be erasing your social media accounts and keeping your head down; you'd know that peacocking your faux-bravery on a network would expose you to being disappeared. You have no idea what "fascism" really means.

The stakes are much lower obviously, but this is an important point about trading stocks, or making career choices, or any number of things.

one thing that comes up in clausewitz is how in war the moral (by which he means character) and the intellectual are inseparable. your fears and hopes will drag your intellect around like a dog if you let them. to see clearly through the fog of war and all its phantasms requires moral courage.

I think Klein comes off more so as being a character totally out of time, as opposed to just “bad”. When Mitt Romney embodies the Republican Party, Klein et al are fine enough, but for a decade now they have been completely useless at persuasion. More than anything I think Klein should just retire.

Roxane Gay@roxanegay.bsky.social

Whew. TNC is so patient. I don’t have that level of patience but I am glad he does. Ezra Klein comes off so…badly in that conversation. Yikes.
