... Everything happens in the space between the words I think. We just don't always notice it. When we're rattling along within the noise (including the chatter in our heads) we forget that the words are often just a way to reflect deeper unspoken change and processes which are often unexpressable.
What happens in the spaces between the words, in moments of what may sound like silence, is actually full of sense-making and meaning and collective pause for breath. How very much I need and appreciate those spaces for listening, and connecting, and being. Still.

This mediating and reassuring role is so vital for our communities. We hear again and again from people who are overwhelmed, confused, and often frightened about things that are digital, including things online. Wrapping access to services inside a trusted provider can be the key to digital equity.
It isn’t always easy to know which information to trust online or keep up with new technology. Libraries help people build the skills and confidence to use the digital world safely. Our website shares useful information about the role libraries play and approaches that work. buff.ly/Q3FnWho

Being able to check what new words and ideas are and the meaning of things that appear in the press or the news, and finding out what new tech is and does, often happens across generations. Losing touch changes identity. @ageingbetter.bsky.social
We are beginning a small, quiet, and gentle project to listen to the voices of people who are ageing without children in Dorset. One of the many different experiences we're hearing is how lack intergenerational contact leads to feeling left behind and losing touch with language and popular culture.>
There is such quiet power for change in what you describe and what you do in this generous education. The nurturing of the trees is match by your nurturing of people and places.
Training people to care for #communityorchards and #forestgardens is a vital part of our work, as the ripple effects of this extend far wider than we can ever imagine. Here's just a few images from our work across the UK over the past few months!

Everyday communication, local relationships, and lived experience are crucial. Support is often seen as a collection of separate services, while trusted community organisations see the whole picture. We're interested in what helps places turn knowledge into relationships and action.
What would a bold policy offer look like that supported communities to be connected, confident and in-control? What if we acknowledged community spaces, organisations, groups and activities are essential? These are questions we have been asking at @jrf-uk.bsky.social
