In 2024 Calif rejected 122,480 mail ballots, Most over a signature mismatch, and the voters never knew. There is a free fix at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov and the county texts you when your ballot is received and when it's counted. If they flag your signature they mail you a form to fix it.
