Frankfort, Indiana, has a new historical marker honoring the Slipher brothers, both groundbreaking astronomers. Their alma mater (and mine) puts their grad dates as ‘08 and ‘09, and as I was impressed with young careers it turns out that’s 19 not 20. news.iu.edu/college/live...

Young ‘uns: this stuff happened once a week during Obama’s presidency. Dijon mustard. Moving a bust of Churchill. Inviting a rapper to the White House. Putting his feet up on his desk. They’d scream and cry for days about how effete and snobby and Black he was and how misinderstood they were.

The Proclaimers have a 2007 jukebox musical and accompanying 2013 film, Sunshine on Leith. The musical played major UK stages for a decade is still popular with local theater groups. Also, the Proclaimers are now miserable anti-trans assholes. (Look it up if you must)

Historical markers are taken much more seriously, with greater attention to and demand for accurate storytelling. Also, there’s lots more of them.

Hawkwind has had more members than Scientology

The home is where Atlanta police arrested Michael Hardwick in 1982 on a sodomy charge. He challenged the law. The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 for the state in 1986. In 1998, the Supreme Court finally struck down sodomy laws. A historical marker application is pending and moving extremely slowly.
