I’m Olivia (it/its) and I run Howling Angel Games. I write visual novels about: Toxic, mentally ill evil murder lesbian girlthings. Philosophy, theology and occultism. Deviance, perversion. Control structures, power dynamics, governments, and the art we make regardless.

Very fond memories of playing Melty with my old friend while we were on a work trip to a bowling alley. We just sat on a laptop and ran sets

I just watched Highlander with my wife, it turns out if you just make a movie about an immortal swordfighter battling both other immortal swordfighters and the ennui of outliving everyone he loves, without being insecure and lame about it, you get a pretty fucking cool movie

I have told industry friends about the restaurant burger analogy: imagine you go to a restaurant and order a burger and the waiter comes out and starts apologizing for producing the perfectly ok burger you ordered on the menu like they felt it was beneath them. It would feel insulting right?

Part of the reason I tend to feel so uncomfortable in queer VN social spaces is the overwhelming fat fetishization I’ve experienced. It wasn’t even directed at me, I just saw people bemoaning others losing weight, always asking for characters to be plumper, and I felt uncomfortable

I’m of two minds, too, I think people should be able to be perverts about whatever they want. I felt fetishized and frankly unsafe to speak up, though. A lot of that is to do with my own past, where I’ve had my sense of agency stripped away by authority figures

It gets even more complicated because I sexualize myself. I sell porn. The way that I felt objectified in those spaces led to me feeling terrified and like a small little kid

rpg safety tool: you and the player who made you uncomfortable are in two separate rooms. you have a green button and a red button. if both of you hit the green button, you are allowed to keep playing. if one of you picks green and one of you picks red, the one who picked red is kicked out. if you b
