I actually love the Siri overlay thingy AS A CONCEPT but the current implementation is just embarrassing. So buggy, so unpredictable; it shows up when you don’t want it and then you can’t find it when you do. IMO this needs urgent fixing by Apple.

I’m seeing lots of criticism of the size of the iPhone Duo front screen when folded. Most people are saying it’s too small to be useful. IMO the issue is iOS taking way too much space and pushing folks into the Max models. Same happens with MacBooks. iPhones with smaller screens were usable.

I’ve ended up creating my own keyboard layout to type 🇪🇸 on a 🇬🇧 or 🇺🇸 Mac. It’s called Spanglish: shortcuts for Spanish accents, ñ, ç and punctuation, while leaving the rest alone. If you type in English and Spanish on Mac: github.com/hugocornejo/...

Every time I push a new abejas.app update, the App Store Connect app offers me these lame little videos to use as marketing assets. I can’t remember ever seeing one of them in the wild, so maybe I’m the first to ever try it!

As a dual 🇬🇧🇪🇸 speaker, I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to discover this wonderful project: eurkey-macos.eu One of those I find by thinking “what if I build XYZ, let’s check if it exists already”… and it does!

eurkey-macos.euEurKEY Next — The European Keyboard Layout for macOSA macOS keyboard layout that lets you type accented characters (ä, é, ñ, č) and programmer symbols from a single US-style layout — for Europeans, coders, and translators. Install via Homebrew or DMG.

Just watched The Social Reckoning. The least believable bit is when we see Frances (who just said she’s got coeliac disease) ordering at a restaurant all nice and chill, like a normal person, not even mentioning gluten to the waitress. Hollywood, right?

AI chatbots get this wrong all the time. Take Slackbot. It’s supposed to be an expert on its domain but somehow can’t actually change user settings, or give me a shortcut or even provide me with reliable instructions about how THEIR product works. Who’s gonna trust it with anything more complex?

Guess which of my 3 posts had to go viral: the ones where I tried to promote my app or the one where I criticised Apple a tiny bit? 🤦‍♂️

I see folks wondering why Apple HomeView’s price is the same with/without the speaker stand. It just prevents cannibalisation by forcing people to pick the version they actually want without giving any revenue away. Same as to why the MacBook Neo is unnecessarily heavy. So it doesn’t kill the Air.

After almost two years of daily use, I still think Fitness+ is the single best thing Apple has produced this decade. If you’ve never tried it, please do!

Ways to spot a good app: Thoughtful shortcuts just one click away from the Dock menu. Even Apple forgets about this one all the time: Cough, Photos app, cough!!

42. I don’t mean “the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything“ but 42 as the exact number of spam emails I got in just a couple of hours after launching my app in Product Hunt. So many opportunistic folks trying to sell all sorts of shovels, pretty depressing.

It’s shocking to me that using the word “get” for this is acceptable in today’s marketing. We’ve always had these kinds of products but at least they were presented as tools for learning and discovery, not just something to lift the work and move on.

Instead of “OTHERS” this panel inside iCloud settings should be called “APPS YOU TRIED FOR TEN SECONDS EIGHT YEARS AGO”

WWDC’25 was enough for me to decide I’d skip macOS Tahoe and iOS 26. Not only was Liquid Glass a mess, but Apple was neglecting even the most basic attention to detail. So I waited for a year, and after going back and forth between systems this summer, I’m finally ready to say goodbye to Sequoia 👋

You are up to date.
