While colleges pause fraternity activities in the wake of hazing deaths, sexual assaults, or other forms of frat-sanctioned violence, they rarely force them to close their doors permanently.

At least a dozen fraternity and sorority pledges have died in hazing incidents since 2020—that year, given the pandemic’s social distancing requirements, only one young woman died in a hazing ritual. That was the lowest number of hazing deaths in decades.

"The firing squad is very physical and visceral in the damage that it does to the person being executed. That’s why they like it. They like it because it’s the same kind of video game brutality that they like in every other context of this administration’s barbarism."

The Trump administration is pushing forward with sanctions against the ICC. A coalition of domestic political opposition and concerned foreign firms governments supporting the ICC is vital for future accountability against human rights abusers, including the Trump administration
Holding the Trump admin accountable for its crimes can seem distant, but there are meaningful steps both US domestic opposition & the international community can take, including supporting the ICC, enabling international investigations into disappearances & civilian deaths, & refunding foreign aid

When ISIS killed my friend James Foley on camera they put him in an orange jumpsuit as a direct reference to images of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay. Not fucking interested my government having a fucking propaganda CONVERSATION with tomorrow’s terrorists, thanks.
Hard to overstate how much Hegseth's execution stream mirrors the U.S. military's traditional description of ISIS propaganda: broadcast killings designed to send a message, strike fear and create a social media spectacle. Will almost certainly be repurposed by online terror cells
