I disagree that the target audience for this execution is would-be terrorists, "to send a message [and] strike fear." The audience is US citizens. This is standard issue lib owning mixed with Hegseth's unique strain of performative toxic masculinity mixed with authoritarian vice signaling.

Anyone remember the Jordanian airman, shot down over Iraq, who was placed in a cage doused in motor spirit, and burned to death? Just met then. Kegsbreath just brought that to the US Airforce.
