Another absolute banger from Safia

Another winter break coding side quest... I created a CLI tool called "burrow" for managing local secrets, inspired by `dotnet user-secrets`. But, itโ€™s a standalone executable and it uses SQLite instead of JSON as the backing store. Check it out at safia.rocks/burrow/ ๐Ÿฐ

Episode 1000 of RunAs Radio is coming up and will be a Q&A show: send questions on the topics, the show itself, even specific guests! Record an audio file or write and send it to info@runasradio.com. If we answer your question, we'll send you a 1000th episode RunAs mug!

The past 2 weeks with ChatGPT Me: please take this CSV file and do this basic thing with the data ChatGPT: no problem, done Me: this is bad. Most rows are empty and you didnโ€™t do the thing I asked ChatGPT: โ€œyouโ€™re absolutely rightโ€ (Yes, Claude or Gemini usually work better)

Our Build closing keynote was so fun - watch to find out if we get a robot to fetch Scott his diet cokes:

Our closing locknote (keynote opensโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ”’) with @markrussinovich.bsky.social is up! Absolutely insane and tense series of entirely live demos! May have been our best talk ever with a nail biting finale youtu.be/KIFDVOXMNDc?...

Plenty of things to dislike about the UK government, but its digital services are not one of them. Weโ€™re incredibly lucky to be served by people that care as much as the folks behind gov.uk do. This page is a goldmine.

โœจ It's new samwho visual essay o'clock! โœจ Reservoir sampling is one of my favourite algorithms. It allows you to sample from a set without knowing the size of that set. I try to assume no prior knowledge, and use no scary math notation. Just beautiful visuals. Let me know what you think! โค๏ธ
