You want to know the irony about JK Rowling's disgusting levels of transphobia? Growing up with the HP movies, I was inspired by the scene talking about "mudbloods" and Hermione. Even though she started as a normal human from a family of normal humans, she's a wizard. (Part 2 in thread)

But because of where she started from, there were people who rejected her and called her slurs. "You're not a real wizard! You're a filthy MUDBLOOD!" But despite how some saw her, that didn't stop her from being one of the best wizards in the school, if not the best. (Part 3 in thread)

I find it interesting that the more the world protests the destructive and immoral dangers of AI, the more corporations love AI and encourage others to use it. Like, the worse AI gets, and the more people hate it, the more AI is forced into everything. This extreme use of such a bad thing is so dumb

You know, a lot of people say that the new #Hexed movie is like #TheOwlHouse, but with the Disney brand. And I agree. But something about this compared to TOH (my favorite show) that really pisses me off is how the main character handles magic. (1/4)

She carefully examined the symbols for the ingredients of magic. Then she experimented and practiced combinations and other details that would allow her to cast all sorts of spells. She became incredibly skilled and surprisingly creative, by working harder than nearly any other witch. (3/4)

She worked around her limitations, and showed just how capable and magical she was, regardless of her being human. Billie on the other hand can cast magic without even trying, or knowing what she's doing. It comes so easily to her, that the audience no longer can connect or be invested in her. (4/4)

Something that made Luz so investing was her obstacles. She was a human, and so magic didn't come naturally to her like the other witches. But she worked around this limitation by studying magic deeper than most ever understood it. (2/4)

Something about games from the early 2010s that showed we kinda peaked on game detail. Fidelity on resolution and model quality definitely had room to get better over the years, but in terms of what we needed for bringing us into these worlds, this generation is special to me. (Part 2 in thread)

Sorry for not listing the games shown. Pikmin 3, Tomb Raider, RE6, DMC Devil May Cry, Alice Madness Returns, BioShock Infinite, MGR Revengence, Dead Space 3, Sleeping Dogs, and Max Payne 3. Finally, adding Remember Me to the list.

To this day, when I play them, I can feel the devs pushing the technology as hard as they could with this care and detail in everything that surrounds the player. I'm not someone who thinks older/newer games look bad. I just don't need more than this to feel immersed and wowed.

Lovely to see. I wish they also got at least nominated for Music Score and Art Direction. It was so beautiful and unique in both its visuals and musical sequences.

We won!!! We’re deeply honored for the Games for Impact award! Thanks to everyone who helped shape South of Midnight and to every player who saw something meaningful in our story.

Well, fuck. Revoking any and all Peripeteia recommendations (and I wish I could un-back it on Kickstarter) based on the very thinly veiled transphobia from the dev (the first one in the screenshots here). I hate this.

Acquaintance grabbed these screencaps. Idk if it's getting purged. "Second stage is people rejecting conspiracy discourse" is genuinely hilarious, I gotta teach em a little about Yakub and maybe they'll change their tune

I also find it ironic how Ubisoft says how impractical it is to make online-only games have offline patches, yet they announced offline modes for The Crew 2 and Motorfest (assuming they aren't stretching the truth and it's actually more like Riders Republic's Zen Mode).

And my concerns were correct. When asking them about this in support, they said roughly the same stuff they said when players were concerned about what will happen when The Crew 1's servers shut down. In that there's no clear plans or knowledge about the game's future. (second half in thread)

They're basically admitting and proving how it's possible for online-only games to get offline modes patched in. They just CHOOSE not to do it for certain games, regardless of how big their audience is. (Rest in thread) #StopKillingGames

In other words, these games have no end-of-life plans, and they're going to be killed like The Crew 1 was. Afterall, some of these games are older than The Crew 2 and Motorfest, yet only The Crew games are getting confirmed Offline modes. This is NOT a good sign.

Back in September during The Crew Showcase, we announced that we were working on an offline mode for The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest. Today, we’re sharing an update on the project and the progress our teams have made so far.

I feel like the same can be said about AI art/voice acting, and how laws need to be made against them for the sake of the creative industry. We saw these problems coming miles away, yet it's still an uphill battle for both the industry and morality.

But they're often too big, too over-priced, repeat the formula too much, and are run by a massively corrupt company. And despite all this, and all the online protesting, they aren't really struggling that much. Ubisoft is too big to hurt financially.

The Division 1 & 2, Steep, For Honor, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, none of them have end-of-life plans announced. So there's still a long list of games not safe, for Ubisoft ALONE. Honestly, I don't like avoiding Ubisoft games. There's enjoyable things about their games, and they often look incredible.
