ICEBlock Official

ICEBLOCK IS STILL OPERATIONAL! If you have #ICEBlock installed, you and 1.14 million of your friends can still make and receive reports. DO NOT DELETE the app from your iPhone as you will lose access. While we can no longer provide updates, we encourage everyone to continue the fight. #resist

Wonder if #apple will ban it from the App Store to “keep it a safe environment for their users”?

Apple’s sticking to their story even though everyone can see this was jawboning plain as day. Thank you @raskin.house.gov for not giving up.

This is getting further out of control than so many ever dreamed. Encourage everyone you know to wake up. We’re close to the point of no return. #resist

Bad Bunny’s halftime show was brilliant. An incredible message of cultural inclusion. This is what this country was meant to be. Love everyone, lift up small businesses, marry the person you love, work hard and be happy. A perfect FU to this administration of hate. #resist

So proud of HOPE (Hackers On Planet Earth) for realizing Greg Newby's dream of becoming a 501c-3 non-profit. I was honored to be their keynote speaker at last year's conference. This organization is championing the rights of our citizens and is so important to furthering resistance via tech. #resist

Feds asked for a 2-week extension to file their motion to dismiss and it was granted. Not sure why they need more time to file something they told us they were going to file, nor why that request was granted, but now we wait until the first part of March for them to do so.

Abolish ICE should be the moderate position. We need to arrest, prosecute and jail every single one of these inhuman criminals, including the top brass. #resist

This is exactly what ICEBlock was trying to prevent by keeping people informed so they could stay safe. Now it’s out of control and we cannot continue to wait on our leaders to help. It is up to the people to prevent this from happening again. #resist

Wishing everyone a safe and happy new year, while remembering to spare a thought for all of those wrongly imprisoned in this nation. We must do better in 2026. It is only “we the people” that can make this change a reality. #resist

NEW: two months after Apple removed @iceblock.app from the App Store at the request of the federal government, its creator is fighting back. I spoke with @joshua.stealingheather.com and his attorney about the federal First Amendment lawsuit they just filed today against five Trump admin members:

We promised you we would fight back. Well, today’s the day we make good on the promise. #resist

Today is National Coming Out Day and we want you to know that we see you, you are loved, and we are your allies. The best thing you can be in this life is yourself.

Please be very careful about trusting anything that asks for your information. This is why #ICEBlock was 100% anonymous. There are a lot of bad actors out there. Keep yourself and your family safe. #resist

ICEBlock creator Joshua Aaron @joshua.stealingheather.com will be speaking with Rachel Maddow @maddow.msnbc.com tonight discussing Apple's removal of #ICEBlock.

We just received a message from Apple's App Review that #ICEBlock has been removed from the App Store due to "objectionable content". The only thing we can imagine is this is due to pressure from the Trump Admin. We have responded and we'll fight this! #resist

So excited to announce that #ICEBlock has crossed the 1 million user mark and is growing by leaps and bounds every day. #resist

Update 1.43 Released This resolves a silent background crash and more reliably delivers notifications. It also resolves some smaller screen UI and scrolling issues. Please update asap and spread the word!

Critical Update Released - Version 1.42 This release corrects the issue of no reported sightings showing when you are on the move, as well as resolves a background task causing silent crashes. Please update immediately and spread the word to others. As always, let us know of any bugs asap.

Version 1.41 is now available. Please update asap. This fixes the notification issues.

We are aware of an issue with notifications not translating properly and instead showing code. It’s already been resolved and a new update has been submitted to Apple (1.41). Hopefully it will be approved quickly. Our apologies.

IMPORTANT NOTE RE: v 1.40 This update changes the way data is stored/retrieved. Until a majority of users update you may not see all reported sightings because the new version uses a new database while the old still uses the previous one. It may take a few days but users generally update quickly.

Massive Update, Version 1.40 Download Now Notifications are now solely done on device and sightings no longer query based on your location. This also means that ICEBlock should never be closed. Just leave it running in the background. Tons of new features and languages!

We will not be intimidated. We will not stop. No human is illegal. #resist

There is an account on X called ICEBlockApp that is impersonating us, reposting what we post here on BlueSky, and trying to gain a following. We have reported this to X and are waiting to hear back. This is the only official account for ICEBlock on social media at this time.

We received a disturbing e-mail from someone named Nick Waytowich, who claims to have built an Android version of ICEBlock and wants permission to use our name and logo. We immediately responded denying this request. Whatever name he ends up using, he works for the US government. DO NOT TRUST IT.

A few individuals have been posting links and trying to market their own software to our users. We don’t know who you are nor have we vetted anything you’ve created. If you post this kind of stuff to our users you will be banned.

Once again. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS. IT IS NOT REAL. ICEBlock is only available on the Apple App Store for iPhones that can run iOS 18.2+.

Version 1.2 is now available on the AppStore. Please update immediately as this should resolve the issues of not being able to report, or see reported, sightings. As a bonus, it also fixes the iPhone SE UI issue where the ICEBlock text in the header was wrapping due to the small screen size.

We are aware of an intermittent issue causing people not to be able to report or see reported sightings in the app. Notifications are still being delivered. This was brought to our attention 3 days ago. We figured it out and submitted an update to Apple. Hopefully it will be pushed out shortly.

We have been made aware of numerous malicious entities trying to harm users by posting fake downloads and source code. Our amazing users are alerting us and already reporting these to places like GitHub, but please be aware that ICEBlock is only available on Apple's AppStore. #resist
