¡Esperanzadora victoria en Brasil 🇧🇷! Qué alegría. Que el resto de energúmenos miserables, títeres de EEUU e Israel, sean solo un bache en la emancipación de Latino America.

Saturday was beautiful. The amount creativity, wit, imagination, empathy and humanity among protesters was magnifique (oligarch and state media will of course focus on the plunder). The only peril was to be found in the gratuitously violent police

with orders of no restraint. Young people demanding better and equal conditions for education (e.g., in the state forgotten Banlieus), access to basic needs and refusing to accept the violently imposed neoliberal austerity (only for the working class). Vive la jeunesse !

The fact that almost anyone think of condeming these evil, criminal and unlawful killings by the US says everything about how the lives of the global south, our lives, are considered as almost worthless.

Today marks one year since the administration began its unauthorized and unconstitutional boat strikes in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific — killing over 200 people. One thing is clear: this military campaign, which continues with the latest strikes just last week, remains illegal and ineffective.

More Palestinians have been killed (1,300) since the so-called ceasefire began in Gaza on 10th October 2025 than Israelis were killed on 7th October 2023 - including ten times as many children (300!) as were killed on 10/7. This is what a 'ceasefire' looks like for Palestinians.

Who is draining Africa? This figure shows net-appropriation of resources from Africa's CFA zone, illustrating two key facts. 1) Eurozone countries are the biggest appropriators, benefitting from the Francafrique system. 2) Contrary to conventional Western narratives, China's appropriation is tiny.

Ben Gvir posted this video on twitter today which shows fat and happy Palestinians on a conveyer built going through the Israeli "prison" (torture camp) system and coming out emaciated and maudlin. This is textbook genocidal content.

Piketty shows that this holds true across markets and nations and eras: all other things being equal, the market system produces a class of hereditary aristocrats who command the world's capital and direct its deployment, despite never having *done* anything. 16/

I’m in idiot for wading into this, but I can say in my experience that there’s more democratic-socialist discussion about climate, and certainly about Gaza, on X now than on BlueSky, which trends straight liberal. And it’s not true that climate content is always being suppressed over there.

David Roberts@volts.wtf

I got over my skis on that one, but I think it's at least arguable. Despite people's exaggerations here, Musk's algorithm tweaks have not *completely* suppressed left voices over there. There are still lots! In aggregate it would be better if there were more (though, y'know, I'm not volunteering).

Not a single nationwide protest against the war in Iran, from the most “democratic and free” country, while the pedophile leader threatens to erase an entire civilization by using nuclear weapons, as they alone did twice on civilians.

Children in Gaza are increasingly being bitten by rats as Israel continues to deny displaced families proper shelter under the ongoing blockade. Medical workers report bites on bodies & faces, with overcrowding & collapsing sanitation worsening conditions and leaving children especially vulnerable.

US Israel have bombed Iran universities, one by one, including where Maryam Mirzakhani won the Fields medal, the first women to do so. Terrorists of humanity. Silence or thinking this means freedom is complicity and idiocy!
