Donald Trump's deployment of California's National Guard in Los Angeles was an unlawful and unconstitutional abuse of power. It was done over California’s objection — all in an effort to intimidate peaceful protestors advocating for immigrant rights.

nytimes.comCourt Says Trump Violated Law in Los Angeles National Guard DeploymentThe ruling, which comes as the midterm election nears, could make it more difficult for President Trump to seize control of the National Guard.

No wonder he doesn't "give a damn" if you're paying more at the pump. HE is making a fortune.

An American student with a disability is suffering from a broken wrist and a black eye after ICE wrongfully tackled and detained him in Santa Maria. Americans didn’t ask to be brutalized by ICE. They sure as hell shouldn’t be paying for its actions with broken limbs.

I’m leading an inquiry of the largest social media companies on their efforts to combat the spread of fraudulent material online seeking to disenfranchise U.S. voters. At this late stage and with voting already underway, the responses we have received to date are inconsistent and inadequate.

nytimes.comA.I. Is Embedded in Your Election Experience. So Are Its Dangers. The midterms are the first elections in which artificial intelligence is integrated into every major social media platform. Efforts to blunt its harms are uneven.

Social media companies hold enormous power over the content voters see — they decide what to amplify and what not to. I will continue to pursue these issues and highlight to the public the areas where these companies can and should do more to safeguard the voting process.

This trumped-up evaluation is the latest evidence of what I and our delegation have been warning of: that Donald Trump’s NOAA is creating a pretext to take away California’s power to manage its own shores.

If these threats are seen through, an administration that has proven to be hell-bent on reopening California to dangerous offshore drilling and other environmental hazards would get the sole jurisdiction over our golden coast.

For half a century, California and the federal government have cooperated to protect our coastline. Now, further proof that this administration wants to end that partnership.

ICE said Antonio Moreida jumped onto the hood of their vehicle. Now a local police investigation concludes that an ICE agent struck him with his SUV. The routine lying by ICE is the result of the example set by leadership of the Department of Homeland Security.

This disturbing action is yet another effort by the President to seed the ground to challenge the results after the midterms. That Blanche and DOJ appointees would participate in it, however, shows how complicit the Justice Department now is in election interference efforts.

In December 2020, DOJ rejected Trump’s plea to “just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen.” Now DOJ is fully on board.

While your costs continue to rise, the President and everyone around him are getting rich — selling pardons, selling contracts, pilfering your taxpayer dollars. It is a veritable den of thieves. The GOP could not care less. But an accounting is coming.
