If you ever want to know why I call evangelicals a death cult, this was the advice left on my 81 year old mother’s Facebook page when she was complaining about not being able to mow her lawn in 100+ degree heat. This is not a pray and see thing.

My husband has a second part time job he doesn’t need. It is an hour commute one way to work two Saturdays a month. I have begged him to quit because we do not get much time together. I do not know how else to impress on him that I am starting to resent not having weekends with him.

It is wild to me to watch a consulting group bungle a huge contract in real time because we will not approve an AI tool that will help them write code. We would have to onboard this tool into our enterprise and then remove it in 3 months when they are done. They will not budge on this tool.

My husband helps a friend run his tabletop game store on the weekend. It is commencement today and watching the little graduating gamers bringing their parents in to show them “a favorite spot in town” is so dang cute. 🥺

We do not have any dogs for the first time in 14 years. My husband noticed a rabbit in our yard, opened the door, and yelled at it to get out of the yard. I looked at him, really puzzled, and he told me, "They need to know our dogs still have shooters out here".

She was the best girl. My first dog as an adult on my own, the world is a little less bright today without you. We had 14 amazing years together.

An alumni group I used to manage always did a Big Ten learn to curl event at Frogtown. While I never interacted with the folks who worked there in person we had great phone chats and everyone who attended the event raved about feeling like family.

I am thinking of adopting a kitten, and I may need someone to talk me down from it. I have a 14 year old cockapoo who has never lived with a cat, but has outlived my other two dogs we got after her. I have not had a cat since I moved out of my parents' house decades ago, and I have the bug again.

An independent restaurant I worked at actually closed for Sundays because of these people. We decided to do so one hour before Sunday lunch service. Put a note on the door, went to the bar, drank beer, watched football, and listened to them shriek at the door to be let in. It was glorious.

Went out to my car this morning to find that overnight, someone had tried to steal it. For reference, this car is 14 years old and not in the best shape. Let me tell you, trying to get a police report is more frustrating than finding out what someone tried to steal my car.
