Impeccable craftsmanship, mind-blowing stop-motion, unbelievable scope, enchanting imagination, brutal action, and a deeply affecting story combine to make WILDWOOD a bona fide animated masterpiece and by far Laika’s finest effort to date. #Wildwood | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | #LFF REVIEW

Yep

Monday again

Parabéns, Brasil 🙌🏼🇧🇷

Fully appreciate that I’m in the minority here and I can see why it’s being piled on but I rather liked #KlaraAndTheSun. There…I said it. Yes, it’s twee to a fault but I found a lot to appreciate with it. Not least, the fact that it allows Jenna Ortega to have a bit of fun

Nula serving cone of shame realness

Out in cinemas today. #Wildwood is a stop-motion masterpiece and you need to find a way watch it asap👇🏼

A good week was had #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Unlike Matt Hagen’s face #Clayface is very solid stuff. Despite some sludgy writing & a freak-of-the-week feel, the film’s commitment to its grim, icky body horror & a star-making turn from Rhys-Harries means Clayface delivers cracking Batman-adjacent fun that stands firmly on its own two muddy feet

#NowWatching Clayface Bring on the body horror. The gooier the better

It’s got to be Lowden, right?

Yikes. Not good…although binning off BBC Three only to bring it back after a while feels like a tradition at this point

You Can See Everything (2026, dir. Nathan Fielder & Lance Oppenheim)

New Trailer | SLAYGROUND (dir. Jeremy Saulnier) Slayyyy 🎃💀

Drop some BODY HORROR 🪰

I’m sorry what?

Monday again

12 days & 32 films later & that’s another #LFF in the bag. Caught up with old faces, met new ones, watched lots of great things, drunk too much coffee, wrote some words, did some podcasts, “sung” some karaoke, joined mercifully few early morning queues. Loved it. Bring on #LondonFilmFestival 2027!

Ok #filmsky. Another year, another banging #LFF line-up to cover! Over the next few weeks, I’ll be dropping reactions & reviews for everything weird & wonderful #LondonFilmFestival has to offer. There’ll be coverage on insertmontage.com & bite sized thoughts in the thread below 👇 #LFF2026 🎞️🎬📽️

Getting home from #LFF after watching the last of 32 films in 2 weeks

Honestly can’t think of a better way to see out #LFF. There’s been some heavy, heavy shit at this year’s festival & while #TheDebut certainly has its dark moments, it’s goofy, charming, hilarious, warm & an absolute ball that sends us all off on such a high note. Julianne Moore absolutely smashes it

#NowWatching The Debut #LFF final day, final film! Here we go…

On the way in for the #LFF final film and ending it all with a debut. Almost there folks…

30. FJORD (dir. Cristian Mungiu) Offers a fascinating debate however #Fjord never quite delivers in a way that warrants all the buzz. Reinsve & Stan are both great & it ask provocative questions but with 2.5 hours of constant obfuscation, I found it difficult to fully connect with

28. CLUB KID (dir. Jordan Firstman) What a cute little film. Incredibly funny & told with heart, warmth, affection for its characters & style for days, Jordan Firstman’s feature debut is basically gay Big Daddy but offers a lot to love with the setup. An absolute banger soundtrack too, innit babes

29. YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER (dir. Bassam Tariq) Beautifully shot, powerful thematics & anchored by a striking Mahershala Ali performance, this is an assassin flick operating on a whole other plane. Balancing pulpy genre thrills & a meditative character study this hits on so many levels

drop a film you saw on a first date

#NowWatching Fjord #LFF day 11, film 2

#NowWatching Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother #LFF day 11, film 1…and starting the things off with one of my big hitters 🗡️

Heading in for the penultimate #LFF day and very much looking forward to ticking two big hitters off my watch list

Big, dumb and kind of fun

#NowWatching Street Fighter When you’ve hit an LFF brick wall and just want to switch the brain off and watch a bunch of weirdos pummel one instead

#NowWatching Club Kid #LFF day 10, film 1 (and only). The buzz on this one is good. Let’s see if it lives up to it

I love #Wildwood and I got to chat with fellow fans @dgfilm.bsky.social and @lizslayed.bsky.social on the @filmhounds.co.uk pod about how Laika’s latest is an instant animation classic and by far the best film of #LFF. Have yourself a listen…
