It's second hand, but this is slightly more affordable than Β£1200-Β£1500 new
Still extremely unattainable, but at Β£700 its slightly closer to a realistic price I could one day afford
Im not going to push this as an actual mutual aid request because it's probably the farthest thing from a necessary purchase I could ever think of
But if people do want to donate to a broke musician fund so I can upgrade my 60 year old clarinet sometime in the future, I guess you can do so here

Im just making myself depressed now. Gonna go eat yoghurt, watch a couple of Astrum videos on YouTube, then cry myself to sleep (/s) over a clarinet that I'm likely never going to be able to own
We're still struggling to figure out how we're going to keep ourselves fed between now and my next pay day, and im about Β£100 behind on bills, including Miths Insurance, his pet plan, and the rental costs of our white goods
It doesn't matter how much our joint income improves, it's never enough

Broke disabled musician fund to get me a new (or new to me) pretty noise maker or two?
One can dream. I've been dreaming of owning my own E13 for 20 years. 10 years of dreaming of having my own Bass.
Maybe i should by a ticket for tomorrow's lotto - that 2mil jackpot would be rather lovely
If I can save Β£50 a month, I might be able to afford a Bb standard in just over 2 years
Hahaha what am I thinking?! I dont have a spare Β£50 a month, I dont have spare anything at the end of the month.
My entire PIP payment disappeared in 4 days this month.
Life has gotten so unaffordable

When I do finally have the money to splash out for a new one though, its very possible I'll get a Bass Clarinet rather than a Bb standard, since I no longer have access to one to play, and I do miss sitting on the back row, but that will all but double the cost, if not more
This gives me just a little hope that the world might just get better one day.
If Lula can win, despite everything that was done to stop his voters being able to actually vote, then maybe the rest of us can get the the other bastards out of power too
Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day.
Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

He may be registered at the vets as a domestic short hair, but that double coat is getting thick; I am not looking forward to the amount of fluff that will invade our house when his coat blows this autumn
It has pretty much cemented the idea that his dad is the big white fluffy monster that prowls
I would like to clarify
The 3rd clarinet part to Troika is not a technically difficult part to play, but the entire thing is bloody semi-quavers and having to count 100ish bars, plus make the repeats on time, is brain numbing and near impossible to keep track of
I successfully managed to play through the 3rd Clarinet part to Troika without dying, for the first time in 26 years.
Im proud of myself!!!
Also got Chrostmas Festival out, which is a lot of fun, and finished off the rehearsal with music from How To Train Your Dragon,

I've had domestic short hairs most of my life, and while I know the pictures dont do his fuzz justice, I have never known a short hair his age have such a thick double coat

Not quite the point of the post
But if you work in a care or nursing home, whether you're there as part of the care team, activities, HCAs, the lot of you
THIS is what that job is about. You are there to assist them in living the best lives they are able, and that includes, as a fucking necessity,
Doing everything in your power to help them re-find the hobbies they love/loved when they were younger/more able, and figuring out a way to make it something they can enjoy with their current ability level.
I've not played the game, but will be sharing with other people I know that are still
The wizard is 5 months old. Still isnt one for being on people, but he has discovered the wonders of using the various limbs of his humans as pillows, and has been basically stuck to my hip all week, curling up in any possible position he can to ensure he is in physical contact.

5 bags of trash picked up
2 tires pulled up and various scrap to landfill
Bee wildflower sanctuary park pulling up nasty thornbush roots
So many sore muscles lol
Getting more bags and another bucket supply wise
Was lovely getting back to band tonight, even if we have got the Christmas pad out. Snow Chase, and Troika, both of which we have spent the last 20+ years trying to get to a performable standard. One day, we might get there, but if tonight's rehearsal is anything to go by, it won't be this year
among many other obstacles, i think whatβs been especially disheartening is the lack of interest despite all the widespread support for giving trans athletes a platform in sports. itβs honestly left me feeling pretty sad and frustrated.
oh well onward we march, i suppose.
kinda frustrating how i canβt seem to reach the queer community at large about our lil trans wrestling and combat sports program despite my best efforts :(
i know theyβll love our shit they just need to know about it but itβs so hard
I did the maths, and as of next week, its been 26 years since I started playing clarinet. 25 since I was gifted my current one
I should probably be an awful lot better than I actually am
I should also get round to getting a new one at some point, mine is an amazing starter instrument, but it's
