“AI” is a marketing buzzword first and a technology second, and as a buzzword, its main function is to be a magic handwave that suggests that a product is complicated and therefore, presumably, good.

Language should be used to introduce clarity, and AI as a marketing term does the exact opposite. It lumps a bunch of different technologies together and assumes that people won’t ask questions for fear of looking ignorant about the shiny new thing.

Yes, AI tools writ large can do very impressive things, but odds are still good that the specific “AI-integrated” product being sold to you is probably a scam.
