High level Republicans anonymously admits Thomas J Smith won due to racism. a GOP "strategist added that Hassan had “clear flaws as a candidate” and the "GOP base was reluctant to support a dude named Amir Hassan."" www.politico.com/news/2026/08...
Seems like an upset might be brewing in the GOP primary in #MI08 to take on Dem Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet. Trump endorsed Amir Hassan, but he currently trails an absolute nobody who suspended his campaign a month ago by a wide margin.
Latest antisemitism allegation against Mamdani is none of the 18 members of the NYC Judiciary Advisory Committee (MAJC) are Jewish. But only 10 MAJC members are chosen by the mayor. So it's antisemitic for Mamdani not to appoint Jews but not antisemitic for the other 8 appointments to be not Jewish.
So far as I can tell, the WNBA fandom is made up of homers, stans, and trolls. Pretty sad really.
I remember back in the old days, the anti-trans used to say they were defending lesbians/gays from trans but now they don't even say that anymore. I have no doubt there are many anti-trans normies who aren't anti-gay, but it's hard to find them among the anti-trans activists like Cunningham.

Sophie Cunningham is not good enough to say things like this and last in the WNBA. Owners and other players have already concluded she's more trouble than she's worth, especially with the international players coming to the WNBA. Look what happened to Chennedy Carter who's a lot better than her.
if the supreme court says 2+2=5, then is it a legal truth that 2+2=5? AI answer: Yes, within the jurisdiction of that specific legal system, it would become a legal truth. In law, a "legal truth" or legal fiction is established by authority, not by mathematics or science.
In a footnote in a labor case, a senior Republican-appointed judge on the D.C. Circuit blasts the Supreme Court about an embarrassing error in its landmark ruling overturning the Chevron case, which unsettled four decades of administrative law precedent. media.cadc.uscourts.gov/opinions/doc...
One of the great things about Google's AI overview is it makes conservatives look ridiculous "conservatives strongly support testosterone screening for soldiers" "Proponents argue that tracking hormone levels ensures "war fighters" operate at their absolute best and maintain peak physical condition"
Hegseth now wants taxpayers to pay to give testosterone injections to troops to make them better warfighters.
I asked Google's AI. Unsurprisingly, it gives a stupid response. "Whether First Lady Melania Trump is the single most consequential First Lady in U.S. history remains a subject of intense debate among historians and political analysts..."
Edith Wilson was basically the shadow president after her husband had a stroke. Eleanor Roosevelt was FDR's eyes and ears and a force in politics decades after his death. Jackie Kennedy was a cultural icon. But to the cult, none of that measures up to ... MELANIA

"he essentially transforms the citizenship clause into an Article 1 legislative power" He also did this in the Trump vs Colorado case - the insurrection clause that banned certain people from holding office was turned into the power to (maybe) ban certain people.
On closer inspection, it might be the most dangerous and extreme view of U.S. citizenship to be articulated by the justices this week. trib.al/KHYSiul
Kavanaugh's opinion is nutty because (according to him) since only children born of citizens are granted birthright citizenship by the 14th amendment, then freed slaves didn't become citizens by the 14th amendment.
Kavanaugh says that Constitution is an "enduring document" and that new exceptions to birthright citizenship can be added for "modern situations that were unknown or unanticipated by the Constitution’s Framers"
The Original Constitution literally used the word "jurisdiction" 5 times, but the dissenters now say it means something different in the 14th amendment.
Justice Roberts writes: children born to parents who are in the United States unlawfully or temporarily are "born in the United States" and "subject to the jurisdiction thereof." "Under the Constitution, they are citizens at birth."

Replying to @elienyc.bsky.social
With this ruling, the birthright issue is not going away. The right hasn't really begun *organizing* around getting rid of the citizenship clause. Like Roe, this will be their fight for a generation. And if the Democrats just say "we won" and ignore it, like Roe, the Republicans will eventually win.
Google's AI admits the Supreme Court is racist against black and other minorities.
Trump once again benefits from a Supreme Court that is too cowardly to call the president a racist. Alito won't even print a single one of his statements (because he knows how bad they are) and instead tries to frame them as not "overtly racial," which, to be blunt, is BS.
