Does everything in the 2020s have to be beyond parody? Can one thing be within parody? Just one? As a treat?

Phil Lewis@phillewis.bsky.social

I spoke to the mom of the 3-year-old soccer star who was left "thinking he did something wrong" after a league official called police "due to a disturbance between parents" The youth sports league said they launched a review and reached out to the family

Youโ€™d think people would know before reading headlines like this that water is wet Or at least that theyโ€™d believe it when they hear it

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

On the same week the DCCC released its first anti-transgender ad, popular Democratic politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did not mince words. When asked about anti-trans Democrats, she called them "shameful," "wrong," and decried them for "scaring so easily." Subscribe to support our journalism.

erininthemorning.comAOC Rebukes Anti-Trans Democrats, Calling Them โ€œShamefulโ€ And โ€œWrongโ€ For โ€œScaring So Easilyโ€โ€œThe moment you compromise the rights of a trans person in America, you compromise the rights of every citizen in Americaโ€

I once went to a commissioners meeting where a guy demanded the library take down its Pride display for โ€œpushing sodomy on childrenโ€. There was a class of fifth graders sitting behind him who came to talk about their community service project. Those kids learned what sodomy is because of him.

Conservative parents are now lamenting that the anti-trans ad blitz is teaching their children that transgender people exist. "We're practically talking the very things we don't want into existence." Read the reddit post and our story on it here. Subscribe to support our journalism.

This might be too optimistic, butโ€ฆ For basically my whole life, people have hated democrats for being preachy. It didnโ€™t matter if they were right or wrong, tons of people wouldnโ€™t vote for them for being too annoying. Is this the way republicans become the median voterโ€™s annoying party?

A trio of new polls could spell disaster for the GOP in the 2026 midterms over their anti-trans ad obsession. Could we be looking at a wave election for democrats fueled, not suppressed, by Republican anti-trans ads? We examine the polls in our latest piece. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Think for 10 seconds about what it would take to shift all our traffic infrastructure to air space and it becomes incredibly obvious why weโ€™re not all driving flying cars

Katie Mack@astrokatie.com

We already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. They're really expensive and there are good reasons you have to have a pilot license and work with air traffic control to fly them. Putting jets on a sedan is not going to result in a better vehicle or transportation experience in any way.

A man who says no one is aware of a generational national trauma happening at this moment is man to whom our world does not exist. The country is burning and theyโ€™re calling for a servant to crank the air conditioning up. Reality means nothing to these people.

There's a Politico (lol) piece entirely about how Republicans' hope right now is that the polls are all way off and they only get a MILD wipeout and first of all it's full of a bunch of nonsense but the best part is how it ends on this incredible bit:

Iโ€™m glad itโ€™s about to turn around, but the low-information Trump coalition may be the most infuriating social phenomenon of my lifetime. โ€œHis former supporters oppose his key policiesโ€ They ruined the world and canโ€™t even tell you why they did it.

Some people hate him for his conservative bullshit. Others hate him because he makes millions in a job he sucks at. Still others (me) remember that Starlord got half the universe killed in an embarrassing attempt to look tough. But the important part is that we all hate Chris Pratt together โค๏ธ

jamelle@jamellebouie.net

you know, i have not watched a chris pratt vehicle since JURASSIC WORLD. i am watching that movie MERCY on a flight right now and it is unbelievable to me that anyone would let the guy headline a film. he has negative charisma and is incredibly wooden.

Housing is a human rights issue, and this is why. Turning things people need to live into financial assets means turning staying alive into a zero-sum game. Housing โ€œinvestorsโ€ prefer an outcome where lots of people die of exposure to one where they donโ€™t make all the money they want.

Hell yes. I donโ€™t care if it canโ€™t pass, do it anyway. This is vision. This is dragging the Overton Window left. This is how the next congress does more than hold the ratchet for republicans.

Truthout@truthout.org

Rep. Delia C. Ramirez has introduced a bill that would abolish not just ICE, but the DHS altogether, repealing the 2002 law establishing the agency and replacing it with one focused on protecting civil and human rights.

David Zaslav is proof that making money and being good at what you do and are wholly unrelated under capitalism

Garrett M. Graff@vermontgmg.bsky.social

An amazingly stark example of how the US economy has broken: Zaslav clears nearly a *billion* dollars amid a CEO tenure where he made basically anything he touched worse, harmed multiple prestigious brands, led huge layoffsโ€”but delivered a corrupt merger for shareholders. variety.com/2026/tv/news...

Wait, a Republican said Sherrod Brown was wrong and evil and he didnโ€™t concede all ground to them immediately? What kind of Democrat is he?!

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Sherrod Brown's new response to an anti-trans ad is remarkably different from many other dems. Instead of accepting bigotry towards trans people, he pivots and links his Republican opponent to the Epstein files. It is notably different from his earlier ads. Subscribe to support our journalism.
