I still love all my acoustic bikes, but the vibe of riding the tern e-bike to go get a coffee after the gym, then cruise around the neighborhood with low effort while sipping that coffee. Can’t beat it. So delightful.

I’ve been trying to make up a reason to ride my new cargo bike somewhere after work and I’m struggling. I know it’s ok to just go for a ride, but it’s fun to have a task as well!

Power company cut our electricity yesterday with no notice for most of the day, so I had no internet to do my silly job. I used the opportunity to bike around town doing various errands. Weather was perfect, and it was glorious. Today I’m working again, and I hate it.

Love when an issue comes up at work and my coworkers all just start sharing Claude at each other… I’m not reading all that…

Update on this. I bought a ticket to Thailand, gonna ride some motorcycles and take a sleeper train and do beach

Ok, I have 3 weeks off from work in November for my birthday. I’ve been struggling to think of what I want to do with that time. Maybe I buy the Amtrak pass and bring my bike on a tour of the US?

I need to make it a point to do more bicycle races for fun next year. I used to look forward to them so much, and I’m not sure why I stopped.

I went to the concert and it was fun. Go figure.

Purchased concert tickets when I was feeling good and happy, the day of the concert has arrived and I am now regretting it.

I’ve been pretty lucky over the past 12 years to only have to deal with two lay offs. Feeling tentatively secure, but my industry is dying an AI death. I honestly worry more about what comes for the generations after us. Anyway… cheers to turning 40 next month

I feel like we don’t talk about millennials in particular, hitting our 40s - in earlier generations many of us would be reaching the peak of our careers, but because of disaster after disaster, locust after locust eating our industries, many of us are on our 3rd or 4th fresh start.

Maybe it’s because I’m subconsciously comparing everyone to Mandani, but looking through the options for Chicago Mayor this year was… underwhelming

Kimmel to Mamdani: "I live in Los Angeles and that is not the reception our mayor would get"

I would equally love a bunch of smaller ones that come in a tube like a Toblerone.

They should make a version of Uncrustables that are the size of a frisbee. Thank you, this has been Airport Thoughts

It may only be Wednesday, but Survivor is back tonight, which means I get to go to my favorite pizza place and yell at the TV with friends and strangers. I can't wait.

Calling all folks that have an old gaming computer they can’t afford to upgrade, this is your time to shine.

if you're a moderately competent desktop computer user with the means to buy a few hard drives i think you have a duty to your iphone friends to become "the plex guy"

Got the annual membership two years ago and never looking back. The little e-bike basket is perfect for transporting tacos home btw.

“Divvy had a record-breaking summer, and it’s exciting to see more Chicagoans choosing biking as a convenient way to get around our city,” Johnson said in a statement. blockclubchicago.org/2026/09/15/c...

After nearly three years of wearing my whoop everyday I’ve cancelled my subscription. Just need a sale on garmin watches to show up now.

I’m able to take 3 weeks off of work in November for my 40th birthday. I need to figure out where in the world I should go! I want to ride trains, motorcycles and bicycles. Beaches or mountains. Currently paralyzed on choosing because there are so many options.

For a junk drawer to legally qualify as a real junk drawer, what is the ONE absolute mandatory item it must include? Leftover screws and Allen wrenches from building furniture. Also miscellaneous stickers.

What a bummer! Green Machine helped me build my Gunnar during the pandemic. Sad news.

Argh! Why do cool Chicago bike shops die while Hummer dealerships live? Green Machine is a longtime supporter of SBC, so please consider helping them clear out their inventory by picking up something for your ride. www.facebook.com/GreenMachine... @activetransportation.org @chicritmass.bsky.social

I took this upcoming Friday and Monday off, not realizing it’s Market Days. Might try and find a way to get out of the city to avoid it, maybe ride my bike to Milwaukee.
