Thank you, @leahgazan.bsky.social! We need a public option for food and groceries to take on the big chains that are gouging us at the till.

People across Canada know that the Liberals’ back door deals with CEOs haven’t made groceries any cheaper. We need bold responses to price shocks caused by extreme weather and corporate gouging. When will the government act and deliver on a public option for food?

More discoveries in VCV Rack: dark mode, Vult Trummor drum synths, MIDI mapping, triggering random sequences with clock divider, and the Recorder module. Fun times! 🎛️🎵 #synthsky #vcvrack #music

Working on phase II of my social media purge! I deleted X 8 months ago and migrated my follows to BlueSky & Farcaster. But I had no choice to use IG for a lot of accounts. 😬 With many more people here now, and given the state of big-tech, I think it’s time to get rid of IG for good. 🚫 #socialspurge

This is an unprecedented historical moment that demands an unprecedented public response. I’m incredibly thankful for the solidarity shown by elected officials, public figures, constituents, and others over the past few days.

Tens of thousands in 70+ communities across Canada took to the streets in an unprecedented & historic cross-movement mobilisation to #DrawtheLine and demand Mark Carney & the federal government pick a side: injustice, violence, and climate destruction — or a just and safe future for all of us.✊

The fact that CBC was too cowardly to film this is indicative of a much bigger problem in media. When layoffs come, they tend to target journalists who are "problems" for management, who question authority. This is what you lose when you only keep the journalists who are deferential to authority:

The British media outlet ITV also went on a Jordanian airdrop and simply ignored the Israeli government’s illiberal demands: www.itv.com/news/2025-08...

At a vigil in Montreal for the child victims of Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, advocates have been reading each of these children’s names — from youngest to oldest. They started at 8:00am. By 9:00pm, they had only reached the names of the nine-year-olds. ❤️‍🩹

International journalists can’t enter Gaza. But healthcare workers can. That makes their testimony vital. They can cut through to the reality of the atrocities Israel is committing in Gaza. In today’s video, you’ll hear their firsthand accounts of witnessing a genocide:

Listen to Anil. Screaming about how tech is evil doesn't help. Making sure that the tech is used properly with the control in the hands of people to empower themselves, rather than at the whims of billionaires enriching themselves is important.

This is true, but the larger scam pattern (web3/metaverse/crypto/etc) is what many of us are trying to give voice to — folks have to recognize that letting those bad actors define "tech" is just like media letting bad actors frame every other "debate". It's losing before we even start.

THE RISE OF END TIMES FASCISM My first major piece of the new Trump era, co-written with @astra.bsky.social. The governing ideology of the far right has become a monstrous, supremacist survivalism. Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them. www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

Heads Up! We know we've been a bit quiet since 25.0 was released. Ever since then we've been working hard on 25.1 & expect it to be available before end March. It's a big update with lots of New Features & fixes. We're stoked about it & believe you'll feel the same way, too, when available! :)

These attacks on protest and freedoms cannot be fought in isolation or in movement silos. We need broad, brave coalition. Climate, Palestine, labor, migrant, trans and reproductive rights; academic freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of association ... Together we are mighty. Divided we fall.

Fossil fuel companies should be forced to pay the public trillions in damages for the costs of their planetary arson. Instead they are trying to shut down one of the most important and storied environmental groups in the world. It's shameless - and it's not over. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
