Introduction pinned post! I'm mostly a screenwriter, wrote the movies Severance, Cockneys Vs Zombies, Tower Block, and TV episodes of Doctor Who, Torchwood, Spooks, Primeval, Crossing Lines, Dave Spud, and more. Several Doctor Who audios for Big Finish, with more on the way, and 3 Commando comics.

20 years since #Torchwood burst onto our screens and changed my life forever! Also 20 years since I got hired for series 2, and since my very first outline (admire my terrible file naming, which continues to this day). The best cast, crew & creatives, and the time of my life. Spooky dos forever ❤️🔦🪵

Just found out yesterday that we’ve lost one of our finest character actors, and by all accounts a lovely human. RIP Richard Riehle.

Will Harris@willharrisinva.bsky.social

I’m so very sad to hear about the passing of the wonderfully mustachioed character actor Richard Riehle. He was a delightful guy and I had the honor and pleasure of interviewing him twice, but we were also Facebook friends and traded many messages and comments over the years.

Well here’s a fun thing! Celebration of the Cambridge Latin course, featuring me but mostly a ton of incredibly clever people!

1/x Two of the best-known coats on any high street began as working kit for sailors on cold decks. Both carry names from my little corner of the North Sea: Duffel, a small town near Antwerp, and the Dutch word "pij". The story of the duffel coat and the peacoat. #maritimehistory

“Oh your dad got bit by Dracula? Where was he? At the big castle?? The one that belongs to Dracula?? Your dad is mad he got bit by Dracula AT DRACULA’S HOUSE??? WHAT DID HE THINK DRACULA DOES THERE EXACTLY????”

It finally happened. Someone in the pub asked for Pepsi as their mixer. Barman said “sorry, we’ve only got Coke, is that okay?” I am SHOOKETH

Stuck on 9 to 5 (Netflix) the other night and can confirm it still absolutely slaps. After a big speech by Dolly our 8 year old admiringly said “well she’s got a big personality”. She sure does.

Once a tiny garden spider raised its front legs at me as I passed, thinking I was a threat. It looked so furious, I just went “okay, I’m going”, and I’m sure later it told all its spider friends “yeah, I scared off that big pink bitch, he’s lucky I didn’t kick his ass”, and I love that for it

If you can live your life in a way that causes a global outpouring of love when you die, it does two things: 1) inspires more people to follow your example, and 2) reminds a few people that they will very much not get that same reaction, and that maybe they need to change.

You know when the bulb in “the big light” breaks, and no matter how many lamps you turn on or how much sunlight comes in, the room is just never bright enough without that big light? That’s what the world feels like now Dolly has gone. It’ll never be the same.

London folk! This is on today and tomorrow!

CALLING LONDONERS 📣 My friend has spent FIVE YEARS developing her play—a queer horror story—and she's hardly sold any tickets. She's travelling down from Leeds and I'm devastated 🥺 The Haunting of Verity Evans, The Hope Theatre, 25th–26th August. I hope you'll join me! Please share if you can't!

Clacton election is already generating pub quiz questions: “They will receive the longest ballot paper in British electoral history at 90cm - about 3ft long - to choose their candidate and cast their vote.”

I just hope that Nick The Incredible Flying Brick, Howling Laud Hope and Baron Von Thunderclap don’t split the vote for The Official Monster Raving Loony Party

something that wrinkles my brain every time I remember it is the fact that total eclipses are only possible on earth because the moon and sun appear to be the same size in our sky, due to the insanely, astronomically unlikely fluke that the moon is 400x smaller than the sun but 400x closer to us.

Announcing MY new documentary, “Should Channel 4 suck my balls?”

Scott Bryan@scottygb.bsky.social

Channel 4 has announced documentary “The Great ADHD Myth?” It “seeks to determine whether ADHD is a genuine neurodevelopmental disorder, or a social construct.”

Sad for the reason, but it’s been so lovely seeing the massive outpouring of love for Sam Neill today. The world was a nicer place with him in it. We should all live a life where people are sad when we’ve gone.

Absolutely gutted about Sam Neill. A joy on and off screen, wonderful human, and I’m so glad he got to see how much we adored him. The best of us.

Anybody else name the local cats when you don’t know their real names? We have CowCat (black and white like a Friesian cow), The Prrrrowler (he sits outside on his owners window looking in instead of out), StatueCat (grey, we thought it was a statue until it moved)
