Is there any sober resource for those of us looking to improve their "agentic engineering" game *without* buying into the daily shovelware / influencer / outdated-in-a-minute hellscape? I've always had a very simple approach but I feel I could be missing out a little.

I've recently introduced self-written skills for 2 and 3, which seems like a nice way to enclose a more reproducible process. Have tried off-the-shelf skills before but generally available skills just seem way overengineered and not useful to me.

I think maybe one gap for me is agent memory. I gave this some thought, though, and currently believe existing approaches are overengineered. LLMs are fantastic at working with markdown, so IMO their "memory" should be cleaned up and written to MD files in the repo.

My current approach is more or less: 1. Define issue and details in GitHub. The more involved it is, the more I define. 2. Tell LLM to work on that issue (in a new worktree) 3. Spin up agent to review the code, run general checks, rate risk of changes 4. Depending on risk, read/skim PR

Looking for neither "this new tool blew my mind" nor "eternal masturbations on AI". So: practical. I'm sure there are people in this space but they're getting drowned out.

So I bought one of those air dusters. Pro: it dislodged a lot of invisible dust from hard to reach places. Con: my house is now full of visible dust.

Love it when you write a comprehensive commit message, and then a pre-commit hook or signing agent fails the commit? Me too. But it turns out the commit message is cached in `.git/COMMIT_EDITMSG`. Wish I knew this before rewriting it three times on Friday.

I know Nathan Fielder is a person and that's about it. Feeling OOTL. Why is the new doc so special? Saw the trailer and it looked just weird.

Twice in the past few years I've had to update my "about" page to change "3 dogs" to "2 dogs" and it's a punch in the gut. Nothing super recent, don't worry, just a thought.

I thought I had it bad with a new doctor pushing homeopathy. At the same time, a friend met with a psychiatrist who is full-on Alex Jones lizard people level of conspiracy crazy. Is it too much to ask for healthcare professionals with at least one foot in reality?

I love posting things here and not worrying about engagement or hearts. I love scrolling down my feed and seeing what people are up to in their lives, in their work and hobbies; enjoying a diverse stream of thoughts which donโ€™t require my validation.

Watched Hellraiser (1987) for the first time. It was probably quite extreme for the time. Looks like it could go many ways delving into the lore in future releases. Charming and impressive makeup/effects. Movie doesnโ€™t really hold up on its own though.

Exhausted. We live rurally. There are a small handful of GP practices within legal distance, so we have to pick one. The first one is antivax and was fined for prescribing ivermectin during COVID. The second one basically laughed me out the room when I requested a mental health referral.

The third one, it turns out, is big into homeopathy and described to me how much a distillation of arnica is almost a panacea. After my respectful objection that I don't believe in it, I was served an anecdotal experience of his as proof. I don't understand how these people got through uni?!

TIL vice grips are not made equal. I have a pair of generic ones and a pair of vintage US-made Vice Gripsโ„ข. I figured they were basically the same, as they look. TL;DR: spent a very long time trying to remove some stripped and extremely tight screws, and only the vintage ones could do the job.
