I used to agree with private school parents, that their tax should go to their kid's private school. Your vantage point essay changed my mind. I went to a private school, but my kids have thrived at a NFP childcare centre and in public primary and high schools. Private education should be abolished.

This graph shows Commonwealth funding, and as schools are funded by states the figures could be thought to be misleading But even when state funding is brought in, the per student funding for private students is 105% and for public students under 88%, which looks pretty similar F at levels of govt

Yep. Gotta question this system in which government contributes something towards EVERY child's education. At some point a private school's own financial capacity becomes so great, it is obscene to give taxpayers money. #auspol
