Never has been, but Christian Nationalism has been for a while…. “The country with the largest Muslim population is Indonesia, with 240M people. It's not governed by Sharia Law. There are 5M Muslims living in the US. Why are we even talking about this? Sharia Law is not a threat to us.”

In trying to figure what's next for this administration, the president, and his cabinet, I believe everyone should read and, memorize Article II, Section 4 pf the United States Constitution.

Think our effort to address the damage done by DOGE Is over? Not at all! We just won summary judgment proving that they abused our data And we are also litigating in fed court on behalf of the countless people they injured at USAID

Trump is going after people who default on loans? That's rich, coming from a man who in 2008 failed to repay roughly $287 million in loans tied to his Chicago skyscraper project. He also sought forgiveness from countless other loans for millions of dollars because he couldn't afford to pay them.

The Trump admin is moving forward on plans to impose financial penalties on Americans in default on their federal student loans and hire private debt collectors to go after them. The plans are unlikely to be announced until after the midterms.

This year, federal agents terrorized our streets, killed our neighbors, and detained our children. Minnesotans were changed forever. Michele Tafoya thinks ICE treats kids “really well.” I think ICE should be ripped apart and replaced by a system grounded in dignity and due process.

Booker: Okay, but this is the thing that really bothers me. He’s telling me, “I am concerned about Ghislaine Maxwell’s safety” But I am not even going to meet with the victims to get them the justice they deserve. It is so disqualifying for this man to have sat there today and said that to me.

So what changed? The Senate passed the Epstein Transparency Act - unanimously. Now, some of those very same senators are lining up to confirm Todd Blanche — the same man who's been leading the Epstein cover-up. We deserve better.

Jon Ossoff just responded to reports that Trump plans to declare him an “illegitimate” senator because of nonexistent voter fraud. Every word of this is spot on. Spread it everywhere and support Ossoff!!!

We used to have presidents who exhibited character, honesty, integrity, kindness, and empathy. Those are all things that I think all of us long for once again. We were reminded today by Barack Obama that we can have that.

I have decided to observe Shabbat 250. I will reflect on American constitutional freedoms: speech, religion, dissent and protest. In memory of Jewish relatives who were killed in the Holocaust, I will observe Shabbat 250 by reflecting how I can support anti-fascism. forward.com/culture/8249...

"The best any economist can do right now is get the order of magnitude right, and my math suggests the Iran war will cost hundreds of billions of dollars, and very possibly trillions. "War is hell. And hell comes with a hefty price tag."

Justin Wolfers@justinwolfers.bsky.social

My latest @nytimes.com oped shows that the White House is dramatically understating the cost of the war in Iran. By my calculations—and I show my work—this war will cost the typical American family thousands, and it could cost them tens of thousands. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2026/05/08/o...

I just finished reading Parable of the Sower and I’ve quit my job to become a full time Octavia Butler booster. One of the best books I’ve ever read, every teen should be reading it right now (yes even the deeply horrific parts)

Today is a reminder that except for a brief period running roughly from Brown v. Board to Roe v. Wade, throughout its history the Supreme Court has been a reactionary force protecting the wealth of the wealthy and the power of the powerful, almost always hostile to equality and justice.

There is no excuse for the stabbings today in Golders Green. No matter how enraged anyone is by Israel's actions, this does not justify attacking random Jews on London's streets. We hope the two victims make a full and speedy recovery

Reminder that any political party trying to make it harder to vote is sending a clear message: they can't win on their ideas alone.

Today’s SCOTUS ruling is a betrayal of our basic democratic values as a country—turning back the clock on hard-won civil rights victories. This isn’t just about Louisiana; this will have nationwide impacts on Congressional districting and voter representation for generations.

Denmark's coal-to-wind transition is one of the most dramatic energy transformations of the past three decades. In 1990, coal provided 90% of Danish electricity. Today it is under 3%. Wind now covers roughly 60% of electricity generation. The last coal plant is scheduled to close by 2028.

It’s infuriating when a woman comes forward about a man raping her in his hotel room after drinking and the response is “Why would she go to his room?” “Why would she drink with him?” This is Mike Pence logic. Women should be allowed to hang out with men without expecting they will be raped.

Today, Pamela Jo Bondi, our most recent head of the Department of Justice, is blithely ignoring a valid, legal subpoena requiring her to testify before Congress. We are not a nation of laws. We are a nation of some people can get away with anything.
