At least we have neighbors whose government isn’t actively trying to overthrow science. And democracy.

Please, American friends, lean on Health Canada in this your time of need. You can rely on us to use science based decision making, and to have information on almost anything you might need to research. Pass it on! www.canada.ca/en/health-ca...

War crimes are real. Just in case any members of the military are wondering. I myself would really hate to be in a position where I had to refuse an illegal order, and I just hope I’d have the courage to follow through with the refusal. I hope that for our current men and women in uniform.

Sadly relevant today.

Luna vocalizes as the wet food approaches. Note that the yellow tennis ball is not hers. It’s the dog’s. The dog never plays with it. We put it up on the cat tree so nobody would sprain an ankle on Thanksgiving. #Caturday #lunakitty #catsky

In the wake of the senseless deployment of National Guard troops to the District of Columbia, which resulted in traffic and pointless deaths, this video seems extra important.

We want to speak directly to members of the Military and the Intelligence Community. The American people need you to stand up for our laws and our Constitution. Don’t give up the ship.

What do these corporations have in common? Netflix Ford Tesla T-Mobile Duke Energy DISH Network Metlife Dominion Energy United States Steel In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes. This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Is it just me or is Amazon Prime streaming of #Warriors vs #Nuggets game absolutely abysmal? Checked internet speed, it’s fine. Ads are streaming with total clarity. But the stream has been a stuttering, jerking buffery mess. What up, #Amazon?

Putting the public back in public health. Gonsalves argues that the “rapacious, extractive, and exploitative system” of American life has been making us sick for decades (strongly agree!) and proposes mass organizing to expand the brief of public health.

/6 Public health could become an organizing force for a restructuring of American life, a better definition of prosperity and success, for actual health. Gregg Gonsalves has been a serious public health leader for decades, and I’m going to see how I can support this movement.

/2 Expanding on the idea that American life—specifically the profit motive run rampant — is bad for health: this shouldn’t surprise anyone. Stark inequities in access to quality medical care, of course. But also unequal access to green spaces, socially-bonding recreation opportunities, fresh fruit

4/ Almost 1/2 of renters pay >30% of their income in rent. Buying a house? Ha! And even the young, healthy, educated, socioeconomically privileged are buried under unending work as millionaire executives strip workforces to the to max “shareholder value.” Stress causes illness. Heart disease,

But then the constant grinding stress of trying to hold it all together, when one serious illness or injury can throw a family into bankruptcy, one traffic ticket can result in jail for people who can’t afford to pay fines

#Mamdani is SLAYING this speech! I haven’t felt this good about a political speech maybe…ever? Kick off with Eugene Debs, and just keep laying down truth after truth, this fucking slaps. #NYCMayor #NewAgeinPolitics

Despite billionaires spending obscene amounts of money and the Trump regime putting the entire weight of its propaganda machine behind slandering Mamdani, he still won, because we, the people, will always be more powerful than them. They want us to believe they’re inevitable—the truth is: we are.

How long can you leave your #halloween ghouls up before the suburban neighbors start giving you side-eye in the street? Asking for me. I’m sad Halloween is over because I just got my ghouls done the day before.

I am super-duper tired of the self-appointed food police weighing in on what poor people should or shouldn’t be buying w/SNAP benefits. And also of billionaires avoiding consequences for all their crimes, always. And also of billionaires existing, in general. Billionaire=immoral. Period.

This morning, I was hit in the face by a baton. I’m going to have a pretty gnarly bruise but we need to remember why this is happening: Trump and ICE are rounding up our neighbors, treating them as subhuman, and shipping them off to labor camps in foreign countries. It has to end.

Hoping weather is cool enough on Saturday to wear this to #nokings. In Spanish, “La derecha oprima, la izquierda libera” is “righty-tighty, lefty-loosey,” but literally it’s “the right oppresses, the left liberates.” (Yes the left can oppress, but that’s not what I’m most worried about right now)

Things have been hard AF lately. I lost someone who was extremely dear to me, suddenly, no chance to say goodbye. And also there is this tabby, asking for pets with a giant extended murder mitten. #mixedbag #lifeishard #lifeisamazing

If this was in fact a federal agent — and who can tell? Uniforms? ID? — than it is a violent assault on an unarmed , nonviolent civilian— again— and there needs to be accountability.

if Kash can go back years and fire people for kneeling or displaying a pride flag the absolute least the next Dem admin can do is fire every one of these assholes who are assaulting people on camera (and then prosecute them)
