After all this chaos and hardship, with the voters and the courts sending large signals of support, you're going to cave on nothing but transparently false promises? For what, to save SNAP? You realize you've just given them the green light to completely dismantle it. Who's going to stop them?

I gave up political debates on fb, but kept the "friends" so I know how the opposition thinks. It's scary! Complete denial of what Kirk was about - Ironically, mostly by people whose rights he would have gleefully denied, thinking he was talking about someone else and not them. What am I missing?

Today I came across an old friend spewing MAGA garbage on facebook and it reminded me of all the years I spent trying to have reasonable, genuine debates with those on the right. I think it's a lost cause. Let experience be the teacher. It is okay not to engage - save your energy for the fight.

If Trump and his cronies don't deserve to be behind bars, then we may as well let everyone go because there is no such thing as crime. I want leaders who are committed to bringing these traitors to justice, are not afraid to say it out loud, and are tough enough to make it happen.

Why on earth is one childish man-baby allowed to tank the entire global economy? Surely it should at least require a few hundred idiots in congress. Those in power must have known this was a vulnerability... were we all just hoping nobody was dumb enough to do it?

Out of all the bullies and monsters in the administration, Marco Rubio seems like the purest specimen of how Nazism happened—not a sincere bigot or ideologue, just an empty shell who has literally no limits on what he will agree to do or pretend to believe, embracing brutality to fill his weakness

President Trump’s administration has officially expelled South Africa’s ambassador to the U.S., a spokesman for the South African president said on Saturday, calling the decision “regrettable.”

I also want to reiterate that it took every single Democratic Senator to agree to this deal. A single Democratic Senator could have denied unanimous consent, pushed this into Monday, allowed more time for the discontent to fester. Every Senate Democrat is complicit. www.politico.com/news/2025/03...

politico.comSenate moves ahead on shutdown votesDemocrats agreed to speed up consideration of the bill to allow a vote on Friday in exchange for votes on four amendments.

I feel like Democrats in the senate should shut the government down until Trump undoes all the damage he's done. It would be painful, but allowing Trump and his cronies to continue to run amok seems far more dangerous. The Dems will never do it, but can you convince me that they shouldn't?

Or... agree to pass a one-week bill and force a vote every single week that is dependent on specific conditions being met. That way the government still runs unless the fascists refuse!

You are up to date.
