Ugh, #studentloans. This isn't about keeping people accountable. If my loans had started with 0% interest, I'd have already paid my balance. Instead, after 19 years of payments, I owe almost $60K. Silver lining: I think the balance is wiped when I die so my kid doesn't inherit my debt?

The unemployment rate for non-degreed men in 2010 was 15%--much higher than 5.5% of college and non-college men combined now. Do we remember in 2010 when entry level jobs in manufacturing and retail REQUIRED a college degree? So to this article, I say "Yes, and." share.google/PkaCBTFYLW2D...

share.googleGen Z men with college degrees now have the same unemployment rate as non-grads—a sign that the higher education payoff is deadGen Z is increasingly slamming their degrees as useless, and new research indicates there may be some truth when it comes to the job hunt.

You know, I didn't want my Bluesky account to turn into a politics dump. But I also need to openly acknowledge that external, avoidable events are damaging my mental health. It's not my fault, or yours (unless your name rhymes with Seal-on Tusk or Ronald Rump). #strongertogether

Replying to @wired.com

Who else has been impacted? Penguins, apparently. Trump's latest round of tariffs hits the Heard and McDonald Islands. But there are no exports, because no one lives there.

wired.comTrump Tariffs Hit Antarctic Islands Inhabited by Zero Humans and Many PenguinsThe Heard and McDonald Islands are among the dozens of targets of President Donald Trump's latest round of tariffs. But they have no exports, because no one lives there.

What is missing: it's often unallowable to use direct costs to pay support staff and pay for lab space, so the ONLY way to cover those costs is in indirect funds. This includes the accountant, often the costs of computers, electricity to keep medication refrigerated... www.axios.com/2025/02/08/n...

Does anyone else #ActuallyAutistic ever put their shoes on their feet and then hours later wonder why they aren't wearing shoes because they have no memory of taking them off? (Where the f*** are my shoes?!)

At the car dealership waiting for a recalled part to be repaired. Do any other #actuallyautistic folk really struggle with being in a dealership?! It's SO LOUD. Music, doors slamming, echoey, team building chants with clapping (why?!)... Just, so loud.

Thanks for the advice to give up my daily cup of coffee to pay off my student loans, Dad! With this tactic, I can have my loans paid off in a breezy 41 (more) years!* *assuming 0% interest for the life of the loan

Why I Don't Vote (OK, I Do Vote, but I Would Like to Discourage You, NY Times Reader, For Doing So For Some Reason) Via @bubbaprog.ilovecitr.us

Don Moynihan@donmoyn.bsky.social

Man, if it turns out that the right winger telling NY Times readers that they should follow his example and not vote did in fact vote in the last two elections, the Times should add this to the piece. Better than a retraction, since it illustrates a willful hypocrisy.

If more autistic individuals fall outside gender norms than allistic individuals, and if one of the diagnostic criteria for being diagnosed autistic is a preference for logic and directness, does that mean gender norms are neither clear-cut nor logical?

Was there really a time when working 9-5 in an office was the standard, or is that just a song? I have been working for almost 25 years and have never had a full-time job with so few working hours.
