I’m about to board my flight to El Salvador, where I hope to meet with senior government officials to discuss the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home.
SCOTUS will hear a challenge to the ACA based on religious objections to abortion care that could end mandatory coverage of preventative health services for all Americans. It threatens #pwd, and would increase health disparities and cause preventable deaths. Legal explanation here:
As someone with disability, preventative care is extra important to me. My compromised immune system makes me more vulnerable to absolutely EVERYTHING, and especially many cancers. It's also important to note that this case is another direct attack on women. Neutral explainer of the case here

I wish more jurisdictions would eliminate law enforcement agencies. They cost shocking amounts of money for little value in many communities. And in fact can do more harm than good. Any homes for sale in Purcellville? www.dcnewsnow.com/video/town-v...
Wisconsin is doing a way better job of protecting their students than Florida. www.wpr.org/news/wiscons...
“It can hardly be argued that either students or teachers shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.” SCOTUS ruling on free speech in schools. Tinker v Des Moines 1969.
A Florida high school teacher lost her job after calling a student by an alternative name without parental permission, sparking community backlash in the conservative birthplace of Moms for Liberty as school officials sought to comply with state law.
DOJ sent armed US Marshals to a former DOJ attorney to intimidate her into not exercising her first amendment and whistleblower rights. She had declined to restore Mel Gibson's gun rights after his DV conviction. Her teenager was home alone at the time. Terrifying intimidation. Oyer is a hero.
I hadn't thought of it this way. I appreciate the helpful frame.
Cognitive load refers to how much working memory or short-term memory someone is using at a time. Minimizing the cognitive load it takes to use your site makes it more accessible for people with cognitive disabilities. Limit what you're asking users to remember to use your site.
This. It's driving me crazy that so many seem oblivious to this. I hope we can learn a strong skepticism automatic response any time there's negative energy on the left. Especially when it pits us against one another. We need to work harder to interrogate why we believe what we believe (or feel).
My biggest frustration in terms of rising to this moment is: people obviously do not understand that there's a whole psyop strategy around DEMORALIZATION. I do not necessarily think that every doomcryer is insincere, but to steal hope is still to hand our enemies weapons.
Part of me really, really wants @booker.senate.gov to keep going and beat Strom Thurmond's record... to show all of us that love for humanity is stronger than hate for differences. But I'm also worried about his physical well-being. This has to be so physically demanding.
I watched for a bit - Cory Booker is working so very hard. I'm rooting for him. I also read today that the record was set by Strom Thurmond speaking for 24 hours and 18 minutes to oppose the Civil Rights Act of 1957. So dedicated to hate.
I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:
Wow. Total gut punch. Like @meidastouch.com says, "It's important, it's urgent -- and it needs to be shared far and wide."
You have to see this. PoliticsGirl and her husband teamed up with the brilliant Timothy Snyder (author of On Tyranny) and the legendary John Lithgow to create something truly powerful. It’s important, it’s urgent—and it needs to be shared far and wide.
From @jlussenhop.bsky.social -how "The First 48" led to wrongful convictions. So easy to draw the parallel to Trump. The intersection of entertainment for profit and gravely serious subjects is a risky recipe for disaster. skywriter.blue/pages/jlusse...
