He’s been a traitor since the 80s.

Steven Beschloss@stevenbeschloss.bsky.social

“Based on my very good relationship with Kim Jong Un, of N Korea, I am not happy with the fact that the United States has, long ago, agreed to participate in Joint Military Exercises with S Korea.” This man is failing to defend the United States. This man is a traitor. This man should be removed.

So this is what the mom in Charlie Brown sounds like

Clara Jeffery@clarajeffery.bsky.social

People here are being really shitty, including at fellow journalists who've been traumatized, and you will regret those posts. Or should. Also this does not help your political cause, whatever that might be.

Good on this woman for acknowledging her mistake. She got snowed. She wanted something different. Yes, she is an idiot but she’s our idiot. #america

Mike Sington@mikesington.bsky.social

“Apparently I’m an idiot.” Woman at Pennsylvania gas station who voted for Trump rips into him, calls him “a worthless pile of sh*t”.

This is the point! The point is to exhaust American military capabilities, much as the Russians have sought to exhaust the American public’s ability to think critically (limited though the initial resources were). This is not happenstance.

Chris Murphy@chrismurphyct.bsky.social

There have been some very bad developments today.

Could he make his allegiance to the Russian state any more fucking obvious? When is someone going to ask him why he’s so dismissive of anything Russia related? I wonder why 🤔

Adam Schwarz@adamjschwarz.bsky.social

Trump gets angry at Fox News' Peter Doocy for asking about Russia helping Iran to kill Americans during his roundtable on college sports. Trump: "What a stupid question that is to be asking at this time. We're talking about something else." Priorities for the US Commander in Chief.

He must not be allowed to do this. His entire purpose is to burn through every American resource he can. He will lead every single member of the military over the edge. He is attempting to make our military overextended so we can’t defend Taiwan. Trump is displaying the behavior of a traitor.

I have to wonder - have any of these people talked to actual Venezuelans? Bc from what I gather, people in Venezuela are very happy to have Maduro gone, regardless of the cost.

Chris Hayes@chrislhayes.bsky.social

This was clear from the jump, but the Venezuela invasion going as smoothly as it did, from a pure operational perspective, is going to prove catastrophic in the long run.

Some Americans are so riddled with self hate that they can’t see that kowtowing to an imperial China will not be the utopia they think.

full slack@fullslack.bsky.social

China will be setting the geopolitical standard for the foreseeable future & the world will be better for it as more countries start choosing the stability of China over the instability of US hegemony, & the US will surely try to turn the world into hell as it lashes out with its last dying gasps.

Jury trials should have the verdict reading before hearing whether all the objections to evidence were sustained/overruled, and then ask what the evidence most convincing was, and if it was ruled inadmissible, boom not convicted.

Gremliny Nussboo@emilynussbaum.bsky.social

If I was on a jury and the judge told me to disregard something, I would not only not disregard it, I’d pay wayyy more attention to it, I would think about it ALL the damn time

Nothing so permanent like a judge’s order that can be overturned by a stroke of conscience (and a modern day Deep Throat)

“Small group of people running the world” is some HIGH KEY NAZI SHIT

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

Platner: We are all beginning to realize — right, left, Republican, Democrat — we are just there to be exploited by a small group of people who, in some ways, are kind of running the world for their own benefit. And the Epstein files show that in glaring fashion.

The problem with alarmists like this is that they take the administration’s actions at face value instead of applying the rules of kayfabe. This is all a show.

Jeff Sharlet@jeffsharlet.bsky.social

Slow civil war is just that, slow; and then fascism burps, and it jolts ahead. Read the whole terror memo. Read about Comey. Consider the generals. Read this passage. Note what’s now called “terror.” And what “funding” it means. I want to say this is in-the-street news, but I think it may be worse.

It’s so abundantly clear that this is not final and their place isn’t settled. This is the world’s most insecure, Pollyanna-ish government.

Tom Joscelyn@tomjoscelyn.bsky.social

The MAGA monocultural revolution is so thorough that Hegseth made it a priority to honor soldiers who carried out war crimes in 1890.

The problem with people like this is that they will never understand that their punishment is directly related to their behavior. When this man is ultimately punished for his inhumanity, he will cry and claim his humanity is being ignored. We must remember to close our ears to their cries.

I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

French billionaire Bernard Arnault, world’s 8th-richest man, is blasting economist Gabriel Zucman’s proposed annual 2% levy on French wealth over 100 million euros ($117 million) as an attempt “to destroy the French economy.” The proposal has 86% public approval. www.reuters.com/world/france...

I think the common thread among MAGAts is that they’ve all suffered some sort of trauma (real or imagined). Loomer, for example, grew up with a schizophrenic brother who attacked her repeatedly. Her mother then abandoned her family (probably the right move tbh), so loomer was raised by her dad

Until he sent her to boarding school. She has been deeply traumatized in her life. This isn’t to say we should feel bad for her any more than we would any stranger who experienced the same thing. This is to say who these people are and that they have obvious weaknesses that can be exploited.

The issue with Stancil’s take on the whole Utah Event is that he’s taking the word of bad actors in good faith. We all know there is a massive push in conservative circles to frame anyone that doesn’t agree with them as violent, and that they’re willing to commit violence against opponents.

It’s through this sort of act, which is itself a betrayal of the highest order (killing your allies and blaming your neighbors), that the accelerationist right will then create partnerships with normie conservatives and push them to commit violence against their perceived enemies.

This is straight out of the NSDAP playbook. It’s an attempt to push those deemed “racially desirable” to unite in an orgy of violence against any perceived enemy, including those on the right that refuse to accept their bloodlust. There will be a night of the long guns soon enough. I weep for us.

We also know that there is an accelerationist element to the far right in this country, and that they’re willing to do whatever it takes to foment the widespread violence they so desire, including killing their ideological allies in order to push those on the right to the far right.

Also this is the BARE MINIMUM for Suarez based on the tournament rules, which say 6 or more for spitting or biting (which I imagine was added specifically for Suarez)

OK… so Clint Dempsey got a 6 game USOC + 3 game MLS suspension for a non-violent referee’s book tearing, and Suarez gets 5 + 0. I just don’t get the math. WTF!

Fuck this administration in its diseases asshole. It is a stain on humanity that can only be removed by removing the stainers.

Nate silver has to have a humiliation fetish

David Faris@davidfaris.bsky.social

This morning we received important answers to the question of "What is Blueskyism?" from Nate Silver and it turns out that the answer is "picking on Nate Silver" and "Being Michael Hobbes."

These kind of comments are so stupid. It’s not a hallmark of capitalism, it’s a hallmark of shitty American healthcare. A number of European countries also enjoy the benefits of capitalism while also having nationalized healthcare 🤷‍♂️

Roth: In terms of remedy, I have not heard what they think the opportunity to be heard would accomplish and what facts would be presented. So the remedy isn't really reinstatement. She can send a letter and maybe the president will change his mind. Sometimes he changes his mind.
