It’s the day before World Fantasy and my reading just made it to the schedule. Hooray! It’s from 5 to 6 PM on Thursday (tomorrow) the 22nd in the Uptown Room, 2nd floor near the hotel elevators. Hope somebody sees this : )

At the motel we stayed at last night, there was nobody behind the desk, you had to check in with this guy in India on a remote viewing screen. Nice guy. Very Wizard of Ozish. Never seen this before.

Landed for the night in a Motel 8 in Mound City, Mo.,reliving our years at the Colonial Motor Inn on Vestal Pkwy in NY. Having a few and digging the scene.

US Congress capitulated on the genocide in Gaza. Now they’re doing the same with Ukraine.Miscreant scumbags following the biggest scumbag in history. It doesn’t matter to them if they’re aiding Russia, how many die, how many children are killed as long as they keep whatever power they have.

Loving this one. The first in Colson Whitehead’s Harlem Trilogy, The Harlem Shuffle. Great characters and a wonderful evocation of 1960’s NYC, especially Harlem.

I have a story coming out in this anthology -- Through a Glass Darkly -- from PS, edited by Preston Grassman and Chris Kelso, cover art by Myrtle Van Damitz. Some of the other contributors are -- Kaaron Warren, Brian Evenson, Jeffrey Thomas, Eugen Bacon, Jonathan Maberry, Paul Di Filippo, etc.

At the mailbox. Lucky day. A copy of The Failure of the Century materialized. Nick Mamatas’s play regarding H. P. Lovecraft. I never go to Worldcon, but this year I was sorry not to be there to see an enactment of this play.

Just watched episode 7 of Reacher, season 4. I do like the show. Have watched all the seasons, but, good lord, it’s got more info-dumps than you can shake stick at. Everybody and their brother is info-dumping right and left. A diarrhea of exposition.

I remember once reading an interview with Charles Vess, years ago, in The Comics Journal. He was asked a question about what his goal was as an artist -- and he said that he wanted to be able to draw anything he could imagine. That stayed with me through the years and influenced me as a writer.
