Don't tell me what to skeet. Don't tell me what not to skeet. Read my skeets before replying to them. Reply to the skeet as written, not to the imaginary other person who wrote some other skeet in your mind that made you mad at someone who is not me.

Sorry to hear of this--I met him once when I was a child! Also, his memoir WARPED FACTORS: A NEUROTIC'S GUIDE TO THE UNIVERSE is secretly the best of the Trek biographies.

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

The best part of that "animal-lover" is just a straightforward social fact that requires no real consideration...and Mayer couldn't even come up with that on her own.

"invoke the Factory," the name all of us real Cakeheads know it by. "We clocking in for a shift tonight, fellas?" is how I ask my bros to go down to the Factory with me.

Handy tip: Korea-watchers always get everything wrong because they start from the premise that the Kim family is made up of entirely irrational actors.

One bazillion years ago I was editor of Soft Skull Press, an explicitly anarcho-Marxist publisher which through lawsuits bankruptcies buyouts and shuffling became two words owned by a billionaire, a billionaire who today shut down her company as it unionized.

This is some serious union-busting BS

Catapult closing really sucks but is not particularly surprising if you know who owned it. The walls of my Perception Box are expanding!

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention.

Years ago, I worked acquired and edited a book at @beaconpress.bsky.social on this topic. It's amazing to see these projects come on line and work so successfully. I hope the momentum is there to keep them going despite... everything.

The Pirate Princess getting around visa issues by performing in international waters is so fittingly perfect

All Elite Central@allelitecentral.com

Like Ilja Dragunov before, Kairi Sane is believed to be dealing with visa issues and is waiting for this to be resolved before signing with AEW. She is able to work on the Jericho Cruise because this will be in international waters. (Source: Dave Meltzer — Wrestling Observer)

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

Santo contra el cerebro del mal was shot in Havana during the revolution, which is why the streets are empty in many of the exterior shots. Everyone was hiding from occasional bursts of gunfire.

Ann was one of the kindest colleagues I have ever known: encouraging, genuine, secure in her own work and self. She was one of my champions at WaPo, and she knew the score there. Ann never hoarded information or opportunity—quite the opposite. She knew there was always room for more of us. 💔

What that tells me is that there's a certain 'quality bar' you have to be above to be 'in the game' so to speak. But once you're 'in the game' the bestseller list depends on being pushed by the system (being on on the list people first see) or randomly discovered by network effects (word of mouth).

Are you in the US? Are you OLD? Are you READING THIS? Some demographic truths: mailing something to you from California is cheap! you are more likely to enjoy the theater than anyone under 50! Trump may have sent you a check for $90, and he is mocking you with it! You like reading what I write!

Just take some fraction of that ninety dollars and use it to purchase my new play, THE FAILURE OF THE CENTURY, which is about the last century even though it is increasingly applicable to this century. Available at @fabulistmag.bsky.social! I'll do the shouting. You can wear the cape.

But it was directed by a fourteen-year-old boy (Fun fact: TEMPEST had a revolving door of directors. Originally intended for Erich von Stroheim, it went to Victor Tourjansky and finally Sam Taylor finished the thing)
